  1. So to recap - the consignor has been “checking one more place” for his seller’s remorse book since May 28th, Metro is still keeping your $4500 hostage, and even the secretary is empowered to tell you to get the fudge out. Weak sauce. I’m confident you will EVENTUALLY get your money back, but I doubt Metro will change any of their practices, and I would bet a small sum that Mr. Remorseful will not be subject to any sort of future consignment restrictions. In fact, I would bet we would find the same book relisted at current market value within the next month.
  2. Just came available... Wolverine (1988) #1. Our hero stands atop a pile of dead pirates who, frankly, had it coming. Only reason I'm selling this one is because I picked up a new copy today, complete with pink/purple Claremont signature, flowing robes...striking. Anyway, just last week a Claremont signed 9.8 went for $745 shipped on eBay. I offer this copy to you for $650 shipped.
  3. Wolverine 75, 9.8 blue with white pages. Hologram on cover. Bucking the trend, part of my LEAST favorite storyline - Fatal Attractions - wherein Wolverine got done dirty. Book pretty consistently crosses the $100 threshold. $95 shipped
  4. Wolverine 63, Signature Series 9.8 with white pages, signed and sketched (Wolverine peaking out from the info box) by artist Mark Texeira. Normally I wouldn't want to let this one go, but I have a number of Tex head sketches. Another of my favorite storylines, where Wolverine and the old Weapon X crew reunite for some renewed hijinks. $120 shipped
  5. Wolverine 31, beginning of a three parter wherein he takes on the Yakuza. SOLD
  6. A book that screams '90s -- Wolverine 50, with its die cut cover. Signature Series 9.8 with white pages, signed by inker Tom Palmer. Blues have been averaging around $100 lately, let's put the ask for this one at $135 shipped.
  7. Next is Wolverine 23, 9.8 blue with white pages. The conclusion of the Spore storyline, and a very tough 9.8 due to the dark colors on the front cover. SOLD
  8. Up first is Wolverine 21, 9.8 blue with white pages. Part of the Spore storyline, one of my personal favorites. Early Wolverine books seem to be breaking the $100 shipped barrier lately, but let's call this guy $95 shipped.
  9. Some classic Wolverine tales for your consideration as I continue my consolidation in advance of my migration (to a new house 8 miles away). Necessities first: Payment: In addition to PayPal, I will also accept check / money order / Zelle, though the book will be held until clearance. Payment generally due within 10 business days. However, time payments are an option on purchases $750+. PM me in advance to discuss though. Shipping (domestic): Book(s) will be shipped via insured USPS priority mail. Domestic shipping is included in the listed price. International Shipping - exact cost, minus the US shipping cost. Please inquire first for an accurate quote, and bear in mind how much time international shipping has been taking lately. Returns: No returns on CGC books as you know what you're getting. Raw book(s) returns accepted if requested within 7 business days if any of them have fatal flaws (missing pages, etc.) that weren't disclosed or we wildly disagree on grade(s), I'll certainly work with you on making things right though, returns are a hassle for all of us. On the HoS? Probation list? Or I simply don't like you (aka on my ignore list)? Don't bother. Can provide board references if needed (no name dropping here), and over 1700 positive eBay feedback as well -- https://feedback.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewFeedback2&userid=792mn. And I've got a fledgling kudos thread started (link is in my profile page). First posted in the thread wins a book outright (so don't PM it to me, a thread take it wins out regardless of time stamp), well reasoned offers always considered.
  10. You know that strange feeling where you've just bought a new bedroom set, and you spent more on the mattress than the furniture? 'Cause I do! So as I look to plug a small hole in my household budget, I offer up to you this beautiful copy of Thor 175. I'm asking $280 shipped. Poking around ComicLink and eBay, I see three 9.6 copies for sale, all with asks close to or above $400 shipped. This is priced for a quick sale...
  11. No, I’m positive they do from my own experience. As an exchange seller, you have to click the button to accept the offer/buy order before the order can be finalized. Whether or not the seller then sends CLink the book is a separate issue.
  12. Thanks. And that is flat out messed up, they’re selling books that they don’t even know are available AND expecting payment for them right away. Not cool bro.
  13. I’ve never dealt with ComicConnect. Can someone riddle me this - Do they at least make the seller confirm that they accept the offer/buy order and that the book is still available before making the buyer pay? I know that ComicLink does.
  14. It certainly sounds like the seller is full of it. Reminds me of the scenario that landed RICK STARR on the probation list. From the platform's side, I can understand the logistics of letting consignors list on their site before having the book in hand. Less storage space, less liability, etc. It just sucks for the buyer when they run across a seller with no morals. The real issue in my eyes though is this -- they've held your money for TWO MONTHS AND COUNTING. You have no book in hand, no refund in lieu of the book, and you have had to initiate all the sleuthing. That is totally unacceptable.
  15. Adding Uncanny X-Men 234, great Wolverine/Skrull cover. Another one that's seen a nice price bump lately. $275 shipped AND...buy this book at asking price and take 20% off any one of the remaining slabs. Or 30% off two of them.
  16. Hey all, with 244 sold I'm going to close this one and move 234 over to my mixed age thread, and attach a deal to it: Clearing space, bronze to modern -- Batman, X-Men, Wolverine, Spider-Man, Hulk, some other stuff -- make moving easier on me!!! - Page 7 - Mixed Age Threads and Misc - CGC Comic Book Collectors Chat Boards (cgccomics.com)
  17. If there's one thing the criminal element in Chicago can be touted for, its their collective ingenuity. Not only do the schemes evolve with the time, but they also know the score -- the current state's attorney will not prosecute anyone other than the most egregious felons, and the US Attorney's Office has bigger fish to fry. A few grand in stolen checks won't even make it onto anyone's radar, so the cycle continues. Sad state of affairs.
