  1. There are all types of levels to this. At shows you are dealing in cash and there is no 1099 for the most part. Cash will make a buyer take less every time. Make sure to read that again because its true. Very hot keys will cause some dealers to over pay. Trust some hot keys will not even sell at a show priced well sometimes. It just depends on who shows up. As other dealers have discussed with me high dollar keys have slowed in sales compared to say a $20 key that will blow out the door in the first hour of the show. I have a very strict policy when buying that has done me well for 20 years. That being said I have walked away from deals that I know I would have made money on, but the labor and capital involved were just too high for me to justify the headaches. This is another mistake I have seen dealers do. And my offer is usually less if a buyer wants me to make a snap decision in the middle of a show as well. I've found in my experience being totally honest up front about capital, storage, values and profit really makes the transaction go a lot smoother. Like I said earlier if the seller and I are too far off in values I walk away and give him some other dealer names they can try. I have regretted passing on some deals over the years, but in the end you have to really understand the work involved. Over the years I have had buyers come back to me after turning down my initial offer after talking to other dealers. Being up front I think has helped in all those cases. Here is something interesting I have found at my shows as I promoter that I never considered. Buyers are showing and selling their keys to other buyers at the show. They don't like the offers dealers give them so they wait around for buyers to ask. Nothing I can do about it as a promoter, but the seller came up and thanked me at last show for making him $4k. Just seemed odd to me, but I bet it goes on a lot.
  2. Thor, ASM and FF all have the same type of 25 covers there maybe more, but those 4 come to mine. The rarest are the newsstand non-deluxe covers I think.
  3. very nice difficult book to find in higher grade.
  4. Actually at one point one boardie had a sizable reward for an ASM 694. I scored this ASM below last year I know all never see another copy.
  5. We will do it again June 8th. Hopefully without card dealers this time. I need to iron that out with the management there.
  6. Mark Scott and Isle of Comics will be there from my show they will have a ton of books.
  7. Byrne and Perez have ruined me for comic art these days. I cant buy many new off the shelf moderns because I grew reading these two artists. Occasionally and artist like Finch or someone else will come along for a brief period and give me hope. But I think the times of a good artist staying on a book for long amount of time are over.
  8. Occasionally they will produce a very rare variant that will take off in the secondary market. For the most part though they are well over priced.
  9. Story time. Did you find them all in one spot or over time? Those top two books are very rare. I might have seen 1 or 2 copies of each.
  10. Send me a list all look for you next time I go. There are quite a few Superman related. I think its like 3 totes left used be 4, but I basically bought a whole tote.
  11. They are just common issues. There are some Batman Superman and some other DC issues like GL as well. I had to draw a line somewhere lol. I passed up a dozen copies of Last Fantastic Four story as well.
  12. Newsstand Distributor family came back to local flea market to sell off rest of collection. I bought around 150 I just cant pass up NM newsstands from 2007-10 I just never see them. All Post some more in a few days when I have more time. Multiple Green Lantern 9s, Hulk 92s, GR 94, Superman 666, All Marvel Milestone like Marvel Premiere and Millie the Model, almost complete run of Spider-man Mary Jane. All types of oddball stuff as newsstands. I need to go back and get more DC but as I rule I steer clear of Superman most of the time. At least 30+ copies of Uncanny X-men 460-500+, and I should go back and get some New Avengers, but not much of market for it. I did pick up all the 1st Ronin issues.
  13. Ive only seen that Gambit Legends copy one time very tough find. It reprints X-men 4 right?
