  1. It took a while, but I’m finally in the club. I think I also earn the “Scruffy Black CAT Award” for having the lowest average graded set! They may not be pretty, but I’m proud to have all three!
  2. So I recently realized that JIM 83 is recognized as the first appearance of Korg, even though he isn’t named in the issue. Instead, he was named in a later issue of the Planet Hulk run, and retconed to have been present as one of the Stone Men in JIM 83. This got me thinking, what is the comic collecting community’s take on something like this? Would CGC labels potentially start referencing such a first appearance after a retcon like this?
  3. Can I be added to the club? Low grade with resto, but this book has become very hard to find lately!
  4. Fair enough, but as this particular book is a bit of a special case (commissioned by Diamond in a small quantity for a very particular purpose), I thought there may have been more information about it.
  5. Waited so long to find one of these at a reasonable price (knowing it would have to be restored). Saw this and knew it was my chance to join the club!
  6. Hi all; The common belief is that there were 500 copies of this printed. Is there any evidence to actually support this? Not sure if I’ve ever seen anything definitive on this.
  7. Not the best copy, but should get me in the club!
  8. Hi all, has there ever been reports of CGC grading counterfeits as legit copies in error? The reason I ask is because I recently bought a CGC graded #1. The CGC label looks fine, I ran the registry number and it checks out, but it's so hard to tell without a confirmed counterfeit to compare side by side. Anyone ever heard of this happening? I took a close look, and it doesn't appear as though the CGC label could have been swapped out either, but there are pro scammers out there. I'd love to be able to relax with my new treasure!
  9. Wow, you have a Captain America Comics #1!!! (Insert drool here). I am very envious! Piece of real history right there!
  10. Thanks silverweb! Resto includes color touch, glue on spine, tear seals, and trimming on the right and bottom edge. I don't mind restored books as much as some people do. They provide me with a way to add books to my collection that I could never afford if they were blue label.
