  1. Anyone have any opinions on FF 23 (I have a chance to pick up a killer copy but not sure about this particular issue)?

It's an early Doom with the best cover, imo and a killer copy. Sounds like a no-brainer to me. I'm missing this title, I would be happy with a low mid-grade copy.

Sounds like a fun poll! I'll nominate 57-60..."Doomsday!"

I haven't read them all yet, working on it but decided to read my books in chronological order so currently on earlyish Spideys and JIM's until I catch up with the FF's I've already read. But I was really surprised at how good the #38-40 were. I wasn't expecting a lot with them having lost their powers but man those issues and Mr Grimm in particular rocked!

  2. Bought a bunch of books, including a FF #48, from Claudio recently and received thoroughly excellent service. Very fast shipment, bomb proof packaging and very tight grading. He's also such a friendly & knowledgeable chap on all things comic related. A credit to the boards. :)

  3. Picked up a nice, raw #78 the other day

and thanks to Claudio I'll have a nice #86 and a very sweet looking #91 in the near future as well. Aside from a #66 that I still need that really will complete my FF run from 53-111.

I will take you guys' advice and wait for the hype to fade a bit before dropping the serious cash on the 'usual suspects'.

  4. Bought a load of raw SA Thor's recently from Kasper and couldn't be happier. Amazing packaging. It's not bullet proof, it's not bomb proof, it's nuke proof!!! Very strict grading, great communication, cheap as chips shipping cost and books were supplied with mylar bags & full-backs! Superb seller and I just can't wait for his next sales thread now.

  5. Picked up a nice 82 the other day. An issue I've always had trouble finding in reasonable condition and not grossly inflated on the price.

Now I only need #66 & #78 to have a complete run from 53-90. :whee:

I've sort of accepted the fact that I'm never going to get a 52...or a 45..but still hoping to land a 48 & 49 at some point.

  6. Bought a load of Bronze Age Spideys from Al and couldn't be happier with the transaction. Great books, bomb proof packaging and really, really fast shipment. Honestly I've had stuff posted from within the UK that's taken longer to get to it's destination. Hope to strike a deal with him on many a future occasion. Great boardie!

  7. Very fast shipping to the UK. Was willing to work with me on the postage cost and nice, secure packaging. All round excellent service! Thanks. :)

  8. That is a sweet, sweet #6. Congrats on such a great book.

I was hoping to post a #36 on here this week. Not a great copy no more than a VG but still elusive here in the UK and for those on a budget but after receiving it last week and going through it I noticed that not one but two ad pages had been removed. I've had that before a couple of times but that was on cheap, cheap books so it's back to the seller it goes. :frustrated:

  9. Paging JIMJUM! I have liberated your copy of ASM 4. It sits proudly in my collection now as a copy with no need of upgrade!

The colours are really popping on that one. Probably the best raw copy I've seen, congrats! :cloud9:

It's been a good couple weeks for me & ASM's. Got these two a few days ago as well. Didn't really expect to win but auctions not ending in the evening tend to go well. :)

Wow, that was a steal! Congratulations.

After seeing so many of these recently I've noticed the slightly inappropriate positioning of both Sue's right hand and her brother's indulgent pose. Who is really the Frightful Four here? :P

I waiting til it's OK to call you "Limey".

Well it is doubly appropriate. :)
