If all of your books are stored in Mylites with Acid Free Boards it does not matter what type of box they are stored in since the box will never actually touch the book and it will not affect the preservation quality of the Mylite.
The box is basically to keep the books stored properly standing front to back in the box and to keep out light (Ultra Violet, Florescent and Incandescent)

#101 is an important issue: last Kirby cover and very meaningful if you analyze it.
A bit disturbing too, in some way.
Why stop at 102? The Inhumans really wind down at 150, the marriage of Crystal and Quicksilver, but the last, best arc finishes at 178, Galactus fighting the High Evolutionary to protect Counter-Earth, then kicking the Frightful Four out of their building when they get back.
Why stop at 178???
Why not go to 416???
After that it was all fake with "Hero's Reborn" and the Title starting over, that's were my Son and I got off the bus.
(Unfortunately No #1)

1 more down and 6 to go for the 1-100 pre hero run
STANDING OVATION...
Great Accomplishment!!!
I have completed issues 43 - 134 but still need 27 of the 42 from 1 - 42.
With the price of these books continuing to climb I do not know that I will reach the plateau you reached even with me only looking for lower grade reading copies and that is why in my eyes it makes it such a Great Accomplishment.
-
Nothing wrong with that copy at all.
I have lots of "Reading Copies" because it makes/made collecting affordable for me especially with the older books I am now collecting and I would rather complete my runs than have high grade books with lots of holes in the series that I could never afford to fill.
-
Because I stopped collecting Iron Man with the end of TOS I never saw that Iron Man 54 before...
Lovin It!!!

Received this F.F.#8 as a gift back in the early 80's, do not know if the Kirby Autograph is legit.

Grew up watching Beany and Cecil.
When my Sister was born in 62 I received a Beany Copter which I was told was a present from my New Little Sister.
Spent $100.00 to acquire another a few years back.
My Four Color Books are all Beany and Cecil.

Not high grade but I do have one and the story is the same as a 10.0 ASM 3 so I am good.

Nice Books!!!

According to Grading from Overstreet and Heritage Auctions books up to a VG 3.5 "Can have a book-length crease and/or dimples."
That plus an accumulation of all other defects will give you the final grade.
VG 4.0 states books "Can have moderate creases or dimples".
Me personally...
I have no issue with Subscription Creases or Arrival Dates on Covers.
To me it is part of the history of the book and the times and it was common place when I was growing up and started collecting in the mid 60's.

Hello,
New here and still finding topics to post in.
I Loved Rom and bought most of my issues new from the news stand and from the first comic shop I ever found, was the first time I saw the different Logo's depicting Direct Sale or News Stand Edition.
When my Son wanted to get into collecting in the 90's he wanted copies of his own so we now have 2 complete runs of ROM.

I'll see your

Where did you find those?
Also, a question if anybody has an answer or theory I am all ears.
Over the past couple of years the lower numbered JIM books(before the prototype issues)have increased in price dramatically, selling 2-4 times over guide(even lower grade books) which I chalked up to increased popularity(why???) rarity, etc, however...
I have been keeping track of what these books are selling for so I can try to judge the market but something just happened over the last 2 weeks on eBay that has me baffled and upset I did not bid.
On 6/7...
JIM issue # 23 in GD+ sold for $120.55
JIM issue # 24 in VG- sold for $110.50.
Today 6/17 those same issues sold for...
JIM issue #23 in VG sold for $49.00
JIM issue #24 in VG sold for $46.00
How do you explain the differences in price over a 2 week period and how do you judge the market with that much of a difference?

Gonna have to stop taking pics with my phone and cropping them, the pics are HUGE.
Found the problem and I am fixing the pics i originally posted on the site.
I am an Admin on a Mopar site and the site automatically resizes the images from Tinypics so I never realized I can change the size of the image when I upload it.
Oh Well, Live and Learn.

I posted this before. But there seems to be a few more new members and fans of this thread who may enjoy it.
Every time I see this shot I'm reminded that you need to get that Strange Worlds #1 graded so it fits in with the others!
AMAZING!!! (No Applause Icon So...) Woot, Woot, Woot!!! Encore, Encore!!!
