  1. The corners, and the crease kill the grade. Still a nice book though.
  2. , thanks for letting us know the grade!
  3. I think that lady is screaming because Doll Man is wearing shorty shorts. Yikes!
  4. I buy from them in about every auction. Good people to deal with. Never had an issue with them.
  5. Everyone thinks their work is fantastic and both are as wonderful people as they are talented....Jeff Smith and George Perez. I don't have the words to express just how nice, down-to-earth, and humble both of them are when I have had the chance to interact with them.
  6. I have a yellow label Dark Knight comic that states it came out of Miller's collection with a very similar remark on it. Congrats!
  7. DC and Marvel should be doing this regularly. They should pick stories from different eras to publish with a new story inside. I think you'd see more people pick-up comics to read. I wonder what was the slotting fee associated with the display, and at what cost is Wal-Mart paying for these books? I don't think DC is making a ton of money on the books.
  8. No response just means they aren't interested in your offer. It is hit or miss on the exchange. Some people want pie in the sky money.
  9. The first 4 issues of Manhunter Vol 1. Doug Rice/Kelly Jones did the pencils and it was inked by Sam Keith/Kelly Jones. A great story about a very wealthy woman who collects super hero masks. She either buys them from people who found them, attempts to buy them from the heroes, or she hires an assassin to get them. Very enjoyable read and it was a fresh take on Manhunter when it got rebooted. Issue 1 has Mark Shaw capturing both the Penguin and Mr. Freeze in two different parts of the issue. Here is the page where we get introduced to the wealthy woman who collects masks in issue 1 and Dumas, the assassin, gets injected into the story during the phone call with her lawyer. Here is the page in issue 4 where we get to see her mask room. (I always thought that if heroes existed we collect the masks instead of comic books). Oh, and the story has a big twist at the end.
  10. Somebody didn't like his eye. They went after it with that pen.
  11. The Norman Rockwell Museum will host an exhibition of Frank Miller's work from June 8, 2019 until October 27, 2019. Out of the Darkness: The Art of Frank Miller (the link works) According to their website: "Norman Rockwell Museum presents the very first retrospective art exhibition for legendary artist Frank Miller. Through the lens of his gritty worldview, Frank Miller has redefined the way comic books are written and drawn. Miller’s distinct style, world-building, and elevation of the anti-hero have awarded him every major comic book industry award and a global following. The exhibit will showcase over 100 original works created by Miller throughout his career and will include interactive displays designed by the artist."
  12. If you are looking for more of a main stream/throwback style then take a look at Year One: Batman/Scarecrow. Published in 2005 and draw by Murphy. The story isn't the best but I think Murphy's pencils, style, and ability to relay what is happening make it a pretty good read. His pencils are fantastic throughout the entire story. Great use of shadow, and the costume he came up with for Scarecrow is fantastic. If you like a big bulky Batman who doesn't look like a jacked up steroid bodybuilder then Murphy might have come up with a winner for you. It was one of the first attempts by Murphy at mainstream comics and his first work on Batman. I've no idea what the pages sell for as they rarely come up for sale. Here are some examples of the pages:
