My suggestion to you, my friend, is a PO Box.
No. Then, she'd definately ask questions.
-
Quite so, my dear Pov. In fact, she opened the Heritage invoice and hit the roof! Luckily, I was able to calm her down and said I needed to buy it to offset my other sales.
That's the key. Comics come in, comics go out. If she only sees comics coming in, she starts asking questions.

Hey Jayman, think you could do that with the other covers, too??!!
I'll do it for issue # 5!
"I have published four issues of the fanzine Horror Comics Review since 2003. I am currently searching for an artist who wishes to collaborate on a short term horror project. Must be able to ink own work & capture a 1970's DC horror vibe, otherwise open to style. Seriously interested persons should contact me via email. pre-codekeith@adelphia.net"

FINALLY got a Luke Cage, Hero for Hire #1, which completes the entire 126-issue run for me!!!!! FINALLY!!!!! Just a reader copy, but I've been chasing one for a while. Now I can sit down and read the entire run from start to finish. Then I'll be an official jive turkey.
Congrats! I know you've been working on that run for a while.

Way to make my #42 look like krap.
Very nice comics.

Beautiful comic! Who did the cover art? It looks like an airbrush cover.
Yup. Kelly Freas did it. It is airbrushed. Off the top of my head, I think it is the only Kelly Freas airbrushed horror cover period.
Did anyone see this?
Witchcraft #5 Color Plated by Freas
BTW - this is the 1000th post in this thread!

OK guys, tonight's my wedding rehearsal & dinner. The big day is tomorrow. Wish me luck!
So would this be one time when you're not hoping for a horror story?
Good luck!

Is there a John Buscema appreciation thread somewhere? If not, there needs to be.
I only know about the two tth2/Zonker "John Buscema is a journeyman artist" threads.
Journeyman artist
JK btw.
Are you sure that's not Sal Buscema? I think it's a typo.

I was happier with this pick-up - Out of the Night # 1. Great book. It has a cool cover -
Very nice. I haven't seen that one before.

Unfortunately, I DO have a desire for a few other definitive covers that WILL be costing me. but Eerie 1 1947, Voodoo Annual, Secret Diary of Eerie and Cap 75 will all have to be obtained first! (Unless there is an insano good price).
Did you see the two Eerie one-shots that Heritage sold recently? Were you in on the bidding?

I was in on the bidding.
As was I. I was surprised the 5.0 went for so low, but then it had the speckling.

You get some Weird types here... especially around the Witching Hour.

Kudos to Norrin Radd for quick payment for a GA Detective! Enjoy the book, Norrin!
I am. Thanks!
What Golden Age book is this? I dont think youve mentioned it to anyone
Why I oughta! It's a good think it's your birthday or I'd take YOU to the wrestling room and stretch ya.

Really, adamstrange, don't sully the thread with such inferior examples!
Yeah! We're generally not used to seeing anything better than a VG in this thread!

BTW - Metro has a VFNM Big Apple copy for sale.

I finally have a GA Detective to post here.

I've narrowed my selection down to the vehicle lifting covers.
There was a Lost Valley 3.0 copy of Action #30 listed on Comiclink for quite a while. But I just looked and it's not there anymore.
I've always liked the Zatara cover of #12 with the rocketship.

Great cover!

HAPPY HALLOWEEN, YOU HORROR HEADS!!!!!
I like Google's Halloween image...

I picked these 3 books up at a local show today for $10 each. To all the devoted war collectors: I saw a TON of late silver and early bronze war in 7.0 - 9.0 priced at a third or half guide. Are those common percentages for the genre? Do most dealers knock 50-75% off book values? If so, I need to focus on war a lot more, as the stories are hands-down the best from that period.
Nice comics, October. I'm going to have to check into some reading copies of Star Spangled War Stories.
BTW - who is your avatar? Mr. Jiggyfly?

I don't collect prehero TOS, but that is a cool comic.

Action #12 is my favorite non-Superman Action. It has such a great SciFi feel to it. Congrats.
