The 35 cent price variants were the bees knees not too long ago, but collectors have shifted their focus instead to Newsstand comics from the mid 80s-mid 90's, give or take a year or two.
Good examples of the ever-growing price discrepancy between direct vs newsstand copies include ASM 194, 210, 238, 252, 298, 299, 300 (huge price differentials), 361, 365, and ann 16. Hulk 340, Spawn 1, Thor 337, xmen 129, and many other examples illustrate this more recent development of collecting focus.
I won't even start on Canadian Price Variants since those are a separate discussion.
Yes, an ASM 300 CGC 9.8 newsstand with Todd McFarlane sig sold for $25K on Comiclink last night!!! Crazy. And a regular 9.8 sold for like $7,000 and change. Hard to see in any version of the multiverse how a Todd signature and newsstand could make an $17-18K difference in hammer price....

I think it's funny how people in this thread are saying they'd take Page A over Page B -- as if Thor vs Hercules pages from issue 126 come up for sale every day. They sure as heck do not and there are not a lot of them. Make this guy an offer he can't refuse pronto and enjoy every day you can look at this page if you can get it. Because your chances of getting another similar page from this book are pretty dang slim. This is not bidding on a 9.4 copy of a graded book vs waiting for a 9.6 to come along. I think some art collectors forget this fact.

ST 89 is definitely a tough book to find. Only a little over 400 graded copies in the census, 361 are blue universal. 9.0 is the highest graded copy. I picked up a very nice presenting 4.5 earlier this year and am so glad I did! Although the Abomination/Wong appearance in the trailer is getting more attention than FFF's appearance, probably because Abomination will also be in the She-Hulk series. Will be interesting how that plays out once the Shang-Chi movie drops! I hope FFF plays a good role!
