Whilst he may have made self serving business decisions that we mocked on these boards it is tough to see another human experiencing this level of emotional pain.
Two of the closest people in his life made plans together behind his back.
(his business partner and his wife)

As anyone that has been through any experience similar can relay...over time he will recognize the signs and realize he was slowly losing both.
    He just couldn't see it.

Just watched the YT video and at 4:26 he says some really scary things.
He needs his family and friends right now.

Yeah I feel bad for the guy. While the whole situation is a dumpster fire, at the end of the day he was just trying to run a business and have a good life. Within the span of a month he basically loses his business and family. Crain sounds like a huge piece of spoon as a person. Mostly feel bad for the kids involved on both sides. They didn't ask to be caught up with the drama of dysfunctional parents.

I emailed FanExpo Boston notifying them of what Black Flag did at C2E2 and that they intended to sell more unlicensed merchandise.  Received a generic response from them.  Will see if the Exhibitors Team actually follows up.

(note, my email to FanExpo included the Bleeding Cool article.  Also, it was pointed out that FanExpo reps peruse these boards and are likely already aware, but I guess the more they hear about it, maybe the more they'll think allowing it might lead to bad press or setting a bad precedence)

    Hello,

Thank you for bringing this to our attention. We have shared your concerns with our Exhibitors Team.

    Sincerely,

I doubt they care much as long as they are getting paid also. They still have Clayton Crain listed as a guest when he cancelled well over a week ago.

I agree 100% on the Con exclusives.   Are also saying Dealer to Dealer sales of their inventory they bring to the show be banned as well?  Just curious

The thing Ive always hated about FanExpo Dallas is that the vendors get 1st shot at any exclusive. They buy the good ones and immediately mark up. Just the nature I guess but I should know better than to go after Con Exclusives.

  4. I submitted 2 books at FanExpo Dallas in September 2021 at a Donny Cates signing. I assume this was done through a CGC Authorized dealer/company. Is there a way to tell what month CGC grading may be working on now? I need to find my paperwork and see if the dealer or company name is listed. I know these wont show up on my dashboard.

So a similar issue happened to me at C2E2 this year.  Not so much for a signing, but I was picking up sketches from artist that did covers for me, but one was not finished so a CGC witness went with me and once we collected everything but the last book they took them and put them in what is basically an evidence bag (used by police) that has a seal on it.  They had cards that they signed with the artist name and sealed them in the bag as well as signing the bag.  They told me to hold on to the bag and do not open it.  Once the other artist finished my last book they took me to get it and then opened the bag in their presence.  I filled out the paperwork at the CGC booth and that's all there was to it.   Just make sure you get the witness to go with you.

Ok so thats what CBCS is flipping out about. That actually sounds like a good idea. Ive got signings lined up over multiple days so this should actually solve a huge issue for me. Thanks for the update.

  6. So I bought the Ultimate Jim Lee CGC Experience. His signing will be on Saturday, May 4th. The issue I have is whether I can other signatures from like Scott Williams, Doug Mahnke and James Tynion etc on a book before this special signing. Would a CGC rep onsite be able to hold the books between signings? There is a private signing experience with Tomasi, Mahnke and Tynion on Friday and Id like to get Detective 1000 signed by everyone for grading. What is my best option here? Should I just do the Lee signing Saturday and hope to get everyone else after with a CGC witness?
