  1. I’ve always been a Marvel guy but there was a time when I was collecting Swamp Thing newsstands. I just took a look out of curiosity and I see that there are no 9.8 CPVs of #21 or #37 listed on the census. Maybe some slipped through the cracks before CGC started denoting them on the label
  2. Great books! Thanks for sharing I thought the search for high grade newsstands was intense but this is next level. I went from buying 1-3 a month to most likely 1-2 a year. The high grade keys are few and far between I don’t collect Bronze Age books but MCS listed an ASM #162 MJ 9.8 (1st Jigsaw) about a month ago. It lasted a couple of hours
  3. I collected 9.6/9.8 Newsstands for years but I sold them all recently and now I’ve shifted my focus to collecting 9.8 Mark Jewelers and Price Variants. I’m a minimalist at heart and I don’t have many but they’re all solid Copper keys. Is anyone else collecting these?
  4. I appreciate the responses! This definitely puts my mind at ease
  5. Great! I appreciate the heads up. I’ll do some more digging on these boards
  6. Negative, i believe that is from a page inside the book. The size/shape doesn’t match up
  7. This just arrived today from Comiclink. I most likely overpaid for it but I’m ok with that. It’s a rare(ish) price variant of one of my favorite Marvel villains. I realize that grading is subjective and that this is graded at a 9.8, not a 10. In short, it doesn’t have to be PERFECT. But is this corner chip acceptable for a 9.8? Otherwise, the book is a definite 9.8 candidate. If you examine the first photo you’ll see a line on the lower left spine. That’s just a small scratch on the case. The spine looks great! And of course there are no grader notes but that’s not a surprise given the 9.8 I reached out to Comiclink to inquire about the original seller and I received multiple responses. They all verified that he/she was in good standing with multiple past sales over the years and no reported issues. There’s no evidence of tampering on the holder. It was graded in January of 2019. Apparently it was won at a Clink auction and then immediately consigned via Clink. I found a thread on the other forum where this is mentioned as a common ‘production flaw’ with this particular book. When I look at the past 50 9.8 (majority Direct) sales on gocollect, I don’t see any with this chip. I’ve owned maybe 100-150 9.8 Coppers in my lifetime. There have definitely been some questionable spine tics, rough corners, etc. This would have to be the worst example I’ve seen. What do you think? Acceptable?
  8. The 9.8 Newsstand of UF4 on ebay just sold for $8,100. I would say that is the most rare
  9. The auction for the 9.8 newsstand just ended at $8,100. WOW
  10. Anyone else seen the 9.8 Newsstand on ebay? I don’t even collect moderns anymore but given the recent hype (it’s also been in my saved searches for YEARS) I made a ridiculous offer and was politely told they were getting offers for thousands more. People are losing their minds for Directs, Variants, and 2nd Printings but this is the one true king. I’m so intrigued. Obviously 6K (starting bid!?) is bonkers but is it bonkers?
  11. To my knowledge yes but I wouldn’t be surprised if somebody on here has the exception
  12. I know zilch about Cerebus but I came across the owner on another thread. Their name is MarvinTheMartian on the registry. There’s a picture of it too. Pretty cool stuff, a lot of great books in that collection
