Bat~ Hound ? What r yur thoughts ?
Yes,
Not too unhappy as I thought before the auction 100K was my target more or less. Not to far off the mark.
off course 120-150 was talked about here and maybe on a good day it would achieve this.
I have more books coming up in the next Comic Link auction this Fall.
Tecs 31 and 33- Dark Knight, ThothAmon, batman_fan and 1 other

97K for the Tec #27.
My prediction as the owner (Now previous owner) was 100k give or take.
Next I will enter my Tec #31 and Tec #33 in the Fall Comic Link auction.

You would think Detective #33 should be ahead of Detective #29 & #31 simply because of the 1st Origin. Maybe at one time is was?

I still feel Tec 29 is way undervalued compared to 31. They should be neck to neck in pricing. Tec 33 appears to have had the most gains last few years.
Agreed!
I don’t really know when the Tec #31 separated in valuation, probably started 2010 or so.
They are obviously both Classic covers (Tec 29 & 31) but the Tec 31 seems to be of interest with other collectors beside Batman collectors.
From what I have read some say Tec 31 is among top 3 or 4 covers of the Golden Age period??The current valuation of the Tec 31 seems to support more demand because of more Golden Age collectors outside of Batman collectors seeking the book?
Just a guess and probably doesn’t make sense?!?

It's could be possible that the buyer who won the Tec 27 covers last year or earlier this year will be interested in this coverless copy to marry the two together. If that's the case, then bidding may get fierce as it would be a "win at all cost" situation for that person.
That would be nice!!
As mentioned before this is my copy and I posted the Batman pages recently. They are supple pages with excellent Off-White or better. The big issue of course is the slightly brittle areas on the spine.
I really considered bidding on that Front Cover to marry to this book but the price was to steep for me.
Anyway’s a great investment for long term hold for whoever wins this book at auction.
I probably would have kept the book but I still have my Tec’s 31 and 33! -

Tec 27 bump.
As of this time with 6 days left sitting at $58,000K.
Still anyone’s guess where it will finish? -

What a beauty ! Complete with a CF and a backcover. Feel CGC was harsh on the PQ. The pages don't look brittle at all.
The big problem with this book is the spine unfortunately. Brittle edges at the top and some brittleness on other areas of the spine. The page quality is better and supple going away from the spine. The colours are pretty good going away from the spine, being somewhat off-white/white in most areas.
CGC will classify brittle if noticed anywhere on a given book.
I think slightly brittle is telling the book has some brittleness but not in whole?- ThothAmon and Point Five

I hope you get that price. It’s worth it. I have a coverless missing the CF that came with a married back cover from an old Tec 27 1.0. I look at it maybe once a year.
Wow,,,
Congratulations on your book!!
I still like your estimate!!
Not to many of these around even coverless or near complete.
The front cover only missing a chunk sold for over 200K a while back! Incredible and probably worth it for long term investment.

I’m the proud owner of this Detective #27. I purchased the book in 2003 and time to let it go!
I decided to go the auction house route because it’s difficult to price out for a potential private deal. I chose Comic Link because it was my go to when I was buying books in the day. I started auctioning off books there around 6 months or so. Nothing but professional service and fast payments after books sold!
CGC is accurate in their grading notes but it was hard to tell if the centrefold was married. The centrefold pages seem consistent with the page quality and sizing of the margins compared to the surrounding pages. The spine margins are slightly brittle but the rest of the interior pages are supple and off/white pages.
I took some photos of the interior pages before CGC slabbed the book
Here are the Batman pages from the book! -

Yes, it will be in a CGC slab before considering selling.

Unfortunately I considered not to bid
If I wanted to invest and keep for 5 or 10 years then I would pursue.
Actually I may consider Auctioning my coverless sometime in the next year or two in a Comic Link focused auction. 💪
