  1. Thanks to October for my share of his recent high-grade late Bronze DC stash! The books arrived Saturday. We all knew Oct could grade with the best of 'em thanks to Nikos' last contest. He's also an excellent shipper: books arrived solidly packed. Thanks again!

    Thank YOU! 893applaud-thumb.gif

Nice to finally get some accurately graded raw books at fair prices when buying online. Thanks very much,

  2. A sincere thank you to BronzeBruce13 for a great book that arrived yesterday. As many of you already know, a very easy guy to do a transaction with - good communication, packaged safely and a fair price.

Doing business on the forums has been a great way to obtain some great books for my collection and hassle free compared to a few experieces I've had on E-Bay lately.

  3. Kudos to wasoff ( Drew Folie) for selling me a X-Men 90 CGC 9.4. Good communications, price, and packaging. 20 or so to go and then the X-Men are complete in 9.4 and above.

Thanks Tom - glad you liked it and happy it got there safe. Anybody looking to do business with Tomega will be pleased - straight shooter, professional and fast to pay thumbsup2.gif

  4. Hey Alex,

A lot of the books from Chicago arrived last week (10 boxes worth if I recall).

Chicago was early August, and CGC usually waits until there is a significant number of books ready for Peter before they ship them up. That's what - 3-3.5 months turnaround?

I think that some of the Toronto and San Diego books are be held up though. Not sure why.

    Kevin,

That doesn't sound like even the posted turnaround times are being met then. Moderns are at approximately 40 days and even allowing a large chunk of them to build up they still should be quicker than what you have said above. Ah well, ultimately we'll get them when we get them - I'll just keep bothering Pete with annoying phonecalls and visits to his store devil.gif

  5. Hey Drew,

SS books are treated the same way date wise. If it is pre 1975 it would fall under Economy.

Also, Peter didn't bend your IF. I did though. Uhh, sorry about that.

    Alex,

Cool, all my submits were after 1975 so they should all slide into the Modern tier then thumbsup2.gif I think CGC's turnaround times for moderns have improved somewhat haven't they? I would expect sometime in late January/early February then - sound about right?

And don't feel so bad about bending just one of my books - I specifically looked for all yours and hit them with my sledgehammer - instant 'pressing' devil.gif

    Drew,

Right now they are on a 3-4 month turnaround. I'm still waiting from some books from San Diego (late July).

Really??? Their website has moderns at about double their "estimated" turnaround times - about 40 days instead of 20. That would put these books back (assuming an early December received date) in late January/early February. Am I missing something??? Even allowing for some time off due to the Christmas holidays (even CGC graders should get some vacation confused-smiley-013.gif) that should be about right.

  7. Oh ya. I guess I should finally put Chris out of his misery. I got all of the books signed on Sunday morning. John was very nice we had a great conversation about hockey, Canada, the US, Britain and Superman to name a few topics. Unfortunately no sketches, I didn't have the heart to ask after he signed all 108 books. Now I am sending off a check to the American Breat Cancer Research Foundation for $125.00.

    Paradise Comics

thumbsup2.gif Sounds good Peter! I think I asked this already but can't remember your answer - do the books go in the modern tier even if they're Signature Series? Just trying to get a feel for the turnaround times for these books.

Did you bend my IF in half before getting it signed poke2.gif

Look forward to getting the books back, appreciate it acclaim.gif

    Beautiful books Sfilosa!!

I don't know a lot about the Mass. pedigree. What's the history of this original owner collection? I've read a bit from Matt Nelson as well and am looking forward to his book - I personally find the pedigree stories fascinating.
