  1. Just waiting on The Shield and The Destroyer to join the MCU 😎, then boom Don’t think Disney+ streaming is a likely destination for The Destroyer though. Maybe in a comedy with Archie
  2. Pleasant surprise after being out of the game for a while, my two favorite covers in comics, same auction, a little lucky, thankful...I guess I just like castles
  3. In the red corner we have Spawn 1 9.8 error variant and Secret Wars 8 9.9 and in the blue corner, yes, that’s right Two Fisted Tales Annual 1 and Wow Comics 38 in high grade
  4. bidder 702 isnt messing around. With half of the guys around these parts being named Rick, Ricky, Rich, Richard, Ricardo...ironic 702 is named Richie Rich
  5. Albeit, it’s one bidder, he/she is setting the market for those books I suppose. A book in auction goes for one bid more than the underbidder is willing to pay. If theoretically he has no ceiling,we get price discovery on the 2nd most someone is willing to pay. The would be high bidder. Without that hoover, we don’t know how high the winner was actually willing to go. So I suppose we know the highest price one buyer would pay retail, we just do t really know what it would do at auction without that whale.
  6. I did notice the underbidder on a book in the second session was a mailed bid. Who would mail a bid? I find that absurd
  7. Yes, I believe the June auction did, and it was the first time
  8. I thought you were going with proxy, head in sand, wake me up when it’s over 😜
  9. Your PC seems pretty well manicured. It was 1of 2 highest graded, and about 1/12th of the #17 hammer, but more than a few shekels. Can’t snag ‘em all. Just leaving some for the rest of us. Thank you for you grace. I wasn’t the lucky bidder either lol.
  10. There’s a PL 13 going off in the auction today I believe, but it’s not up to snuff. There’s no 9 at the front, decent replacement to fill the hole for now. 😜
  11. There’s an Action 1 6.5 Restored w/slightly brittle pages up in the next Signature Heritage auction in November. I’m doing a fundraiser. You all can own about 1% of this truly special book. Just “invest” $10,000 Friends & Family no fee sent to me in advance of said auction. There are only 100 slots available. Get them while you can. I’ll take care of the rest of the cost to bid if it exceeds $1MM. I’ll procure it, keep it in safe keeping, and send everyone pictures before “we” win/own it, and after. You’ll be able to look at the “after” picture, and know from that point forward, you are officially an owner of a part of history. I will take care of the bidding, purchase, and safekeeping of said book. Only thing I ask is I keep the book in my possession at all times, and sell it at my time of choosing. When I pass on, you or your heirs will continue to own almost 1% of this book. My heirs will retain possession. No visitation included.
  12. Creepy as Hell hands from Fine, Kane, and Baker...
  13. Thanks for the insight. I haven’t seen any of those three movies. Guess I have some catching up to do. Interesting casting, The Last Ten Days and The Bunker, I’d assume are about the same thing as Downfall, those last couple of weeks in April, 1945 before he offed himself in the bunker and they surrendered to Russia and the US. There’s a solid series that just came out on Netflix called The Defeated about a hypothetical aftermath immediately following the end of the war in Berlin. I also like The Man in the High Castle. Little different plot though. The Great Dictator I’ve seen clips. McKellen also played Gandalf. He’s gay, and Magneto is not only complicated, but his origin has to do with the Holocaust/concentration camps at the end of the war when he was a young boy Then Hopkins, Hannibal Lecter, also a complex character, and his origin was World War II in Russia, in the midst of Barbarossa as the Russians burnt down their homes and food stocks, because F the Nazi invaders. You can’t have our land and dictate terms. So we both die you pieces of mess. It’s portrayed in Hannibal Rising, which Hopkins isn’t in. But starving to death in brutal winter, watching man deprave himself, as some of them ate each other, Lecter was supposed to be a child as he watched that play out. And Alec Guinness, Obi Wan, another larger than life character. Downfall is exceptional in my opinion, I’d recommend it. I’m sure those other portrayals are as well, I’ll have to catch up.
  14. Yeah, maybe not fair to group him in with Schwarzenegger’s Mr. Freeze and Leto’s Joker. Just felt uninspired. I actually liked Batman Begins. But the villains weren’t the reason why. Liam is normally great imo, but not as much in that role.
  15. Yeah, thanks, had to look it up. I don’t know why, but only movie I think of with him is There Will be Blood. Honorable Mention also goes to Ben Affleck in Batman vs Superman. He was kind of a , even though he was right.
  16. That show was entertaining, as campy as it was. I liked the whole cast. Lee Meriweather played Catwoman in the movie, but otherwise, the cast was the same. I actually enjoyed the chemistry of the villains. They had good back and forth. Jim Carrey was okay as The Riddler, but that Bat saga lost it’s way. And I wasn’t really a fan of much of it after the first one. I liked Gorshin more. I can’t remember who’s playing the role coming up, but I suppose it’ll be the first time The Riddler will be the primary villain in any iteration. ...Paul Dano
  17. Hall of Shame, either ehhh or really bad... Schwarzenegger as Mr. Freeze, Cillian Murphy as Scarecrow, Kevin Spacey as Lex Luthor, Jake Gyllenhaal as Mysterio, Jared Leto as The Joker
  18. If you’re referring to Hitler, I’m surprised that I don’t have a clue which movies you’re referring. Bruno Ganz in Downfall comes to mind for a portrayal of that monster.
  19. He was really disturbing. Javier Bardem in No Country for Old Men also comes to mind.
  20. Gold/Silver mix... I’ve been paying attention over the years. Here’s my list...who did I leave off that you think should be included? In most cases, it’s likely I chose to leave them off, but have seen the performances. But everyone has an opinion: #1 Heath Ledger - The Joker HM Cesar Romero, Jack Nicholson, Joaquin Phoenix #2 Gene Hackman - Lex Luthor #3 Julie Newmar - Catwoman HM Michelle Pfeiffer #4 Bane - Tom Hardy #5 Magneto - Ian Mckellen #6 General Zod - Terence Stamp #7 Green Goblin - Willem Defoe #8 Penguin - Burgess Meredith #9 Talia al Ghul - Marion Cotillard #10 Doc Ock - Alfred Molina ...I’m not certain I rank Ledger #1, but he’s hard to deny. And for the sake of this kind of list, I may have appreciated say Romero more as the Joker than Molina as Doc Ock, but only included what I thought was the best or favorite performance for each character. So no two Jokers or Catwomen or whatever.
