Looks to be the inner well seal; sometimes they are not clear when sealed leaving visible marks. I am more concerned with the bottom right corner, the inner well looks to be warped is the corner of the slab still sealed without cracks?

Now that you mention it, the bottom right corner does look like it's missing a piece. However it still looks sealed to me. I took more pictures and it does look warped like you said.

  2. Hi everyone! I just got this comic off ebay and I noticed it has these brown spots on the covers, but not on the inside pages. I read online that this is foxing. So my question is if this is contagious or not? I put it inside a mylite 2 bag with a full back board, along with 3 pieces of microchamber paper. I figure the paper will keep the oxygen levels down so whatever caused the foxing won't spread. Now will that be enough to keep this comic and the rest of my comics safe from any further foxing assuming I keep my comics stored properly? Thanks in advance for the help! :)

As everyone has stated, this is a color rub = the color is gone in that location. An otherwise high grade book will be hammered, in the mid grades, not so much. If this is a 9.6 or 9.8 otherwise, I think you will be looking at 9.2 range. I'm curious as to why you would think a press could remove it ? It's crazy that so many think a press will cure anything and everything.

I wasn't sure what it was in the first place, which is why I posted here. Once it was clarified that it was a color rub I knew a press wouldn't fix it. Thanks for the clarification on the grade though ??

  4. I was going to have this pressed but I would like hear everyones thoughts on what the grade will be before and after pressing. I see a couple of creases but they don't appear to be breaking color. There are also impressions that are on the bottom left Spidey logo. They go into the inside pages as well but none of them made any punctures. I figure all these can be pressed out but my main concern comes with the back cover. On the top right of the back corner you can see what appears to be some sort of stain. it's strange though because it is on the inside of the back and front covers as well, yet is not present on the pages of the comic and does not show up on the front cover. Is it possible that it's not a stain but some sort of discoloration? Perhaps it can come out with a pressing? Other than what I've pointed out I don't see anything major wrong with the comic. It doesn't have any chipping and all the corners look pretty good. Thanks in advance everyone for your input.  :)

  5. Hi Gator! Hopefully I winded up in the right place here. I am looking for an Amazing Spider-Man #5. I will be attending NYCC all days this weekend and heard that you might be as well. I was told you might be able to hook me up with an ASM #5 for sale. I would love to buy it at the convention if you could help find me one for sale. My goal is to have it signed and graded. My price range for the comic is $400. I was looking for a comic that would grade at around a 5.0. Off white-white pages would be cool too. Would you be able to help me out? I'd greatly appreciate any and all help. Thank you :)

  6. Now does making a window bag insult the person you want to sign the comic? For example I want Stan Lee to sign an Amazing Spider-Man 5, but I don't want it to get beat up during and after him signing it. More importantly I want to determine the exact place where he signs it. At the Same time I don't want to offend Stan Lee. Any thoughts or experience with this?

  7. Hi I see people on YouTube that have a sticker that they place over the comic where they want it to be signed. Then they cut out the part of the bag that's inside the sticker. It's the same thing as using tape but it looks much easier and cleaner. Does anyone know if those stickers I'm talking about are available for purchase anywhere? I'd greatly appreciate the help. Thanks in advance!

  8. Hi thank you so much to everyone for replying to my post. I've read many interesting replies and here is my response to most of them. I would like to find a comic that is Spider-Man only. While I like the Fantastic Four and such the only character from anything that's not spider-man from Stan Lee that I love is Dr. Doom. Spider-man however is my childhood hero (besides batman) and so I am most compelled to buy a spider-man comic. I am new to collecting comics so my collection is not huge and such I do not own any comics he wrote. I am interested in buying a comic he wrote like many of you have suggested. I would like to find a comic that is significant to the story (something that would come back from the cgc with key notes). I love the suggestion of Spider-man 90 but I feel like it doesn't necessarily call out to me. It's definitely a key issue and one that Stan Lee wrote, but captain Stacey doesn't really pack a punch with me. With that said I appreciate the suggestion and will still keep it in mind. If any else knows of any other key events from stan that are in my budget I'd appreciate it if you could share them with me. I also want a comic that looks nice on the cover. I'm not just talking about the cover art but also the condition. I know low-mid grade comics are probably what my budget will bring me to, but I would like one that looks presentable and not beat up and torn. I am a college student so that's why my budget is around $200-$250. I'm not trying to go cheap on the comic I buy, it's just that if I go any higher I won't have any money left to do anything at the convention. Hopefully this helps you help me find a comic for him to sign. I really appreciate the responses and hope to get more. Thanks again! :)

  9. Hi. I am looking to get a comic signed by Stan Lee but I don't know which comic to have him sign. To me the most obvious choice seems to be Amazing Spider-Man 300. I know that it's a popular choice, and I love Venom and Spiderman so that's a comic I would like him to sign. With that said I understand that Stan Lee did not create Venom or have any involvement in the making of spiderman 300. So would it be a mistake to buy that comic for him to sign? I know the common response would be to have him sign something he worked on personally, but I can't see anything that interests me (that's in my price range). My budget is around $200 to spend on a comic for him to sign. The only comics I own that I would have him sign would be a 9.6 spiderman 361 and a 9.4 gold lethal protector. Does any of that seem like a good choice? Any recommendations on a comic to buy for him to sign? I don't intend on selling the comic he signs aaaaaaanyyyyy time soon but I will probably only meet Stan Lee this once so I want to make sure I get a comic that will go up in value with his signature over time. Thanks in advance for the help! :)
