  1. I really don't understand the issue. I've used Transfer wise a number of times for various dealers.
  2. I really think that both big publishers are simply targeting the wrong demographic. They're too focused on trying to appeal to older and stubborn "mature" readers who hate any changes to their favorite characters, who have been collecting floppies for years. I think by focusing on them, they're not appealing to newer and younger readers. As you said, you didn't step into a comic shop until a few years after you started collecting. Not only do they need to focus on stories that appeal to a younger crowd, but they need to push and really advertise them in markets that are easily accessible to younger people like Target and Walmart.
  3. How do you expect anyone to give a ball-park price on simple "a page in a comic". The page, as you put it, is not anything special. Buy what you love. If it's not anything special, just pass on it, even if it is from issue 1 of a popular book.
  4. Probably not as funny as you thought it was.
  5. CAF Update: Batman 50 Splash page by Bermejo. https://www.comicartfans.com/gallerypiece.asp?piece=1655930
  6. Man, i really love his linework. I almost prefer his non-colored pieces just so I can stare at them.
  7. Yeah, this has been on eBay for a while, IIRC. It's pretty nice. And while I think he's good, i don't really see anything special about his style. There are so many digital/concept artists who have similar anime-esque figure styles who are just as talented. Maybe he was just smarter about it since his art is so hot. Really wish I had splurged on this one. It's quite nice. He is able to sell well and at high prices, but perhaps his secondary market prices don't come close to his original asking prices? $12k seemed a bit low for a cover by him featuring Batman and Catwoman, at that size. Inhyuk is good, and his traditional art is getting better, but there was some shadiness that happened about a year ago where he was re-drawing some of his already published digital art covers and selling them as cover work.
  8. From what I understand, the majority of his covers are digital as you said, but I don't think many of them have a traditional component to them. And yeah, a ton of money. When I first started collecting comic art in general, I reached out about a cover he did for KRS Comics. Whoever runs his FB page responded that the asking was 10k usd. I nearly my pants at that price.... I still do, actually.
  9. His pricing is kind of all over the place, but I think he's just testing the waters to see what he can sell at. This piece, when it originally was posted by him on CAF, he was asking 10k. https://tonydaniel.bigcartel.com/product/batman-double-page-splash Ultimately, it sold for $3500, which I might have actually purchased. I saw the original 10k asking price and just scoffed and wrote it off For a while, he had some sketch cover commissions that were priced at 600-1000, which I think is a bit absurd considering he had published panel pages priced considerably less, but it looks like his commissions prices are starting to level off a bit. His covers are overpriced IMO. Having said that, I don't think he is nearly as overpriced as Jason Fabok is.
  10. Guess I'll join the part as I've got a fair amount of art framed atm. This was my first big commission that I had not choice but to get framed, which kind of led to a framing theme where I always relied on fillets to help bring out the art a bit more. https://www.comicartfans.com/gallerypiece.asp?piece=1424163
  11. Ha, nah. I'd love to see what he produces for those commissions. This and the wolverine were won on Twitch via his silent auctions. $2500 and $3200 respectively. The last one auctioned off was a Psylocke for $3648 (http://www.comicartfans.com/GalleryPiece.asp?Piece=1460324) Seems like the prices on these auctions will continue to rise.
  12. Latest. http://www.comicartfans.com/gallerypiece.asp?piece=1456267

  14. Hrm, my previous message is "hidden"? New to the forum... Here is the message Anyone here do the Jim Lee Fan Experience (CGC/CBCS)? I'm wondering what I paid $149 bucks for. All they did was corral us into the same line the $99 dollar people got in. We got the exact same experience they did, we just paid more... Also, since I was submitting through ComicSketchArt, we still paid a 40 dollar fee for each Jim Lee signature submitted. Was this the same fee that folks paid at the regular CGC booth for the Jim Lee witnessed signature?
  15. All-Star Batman and Robin. I thought I could make it through on Jim Lee's art alone, but Frank Miller's writing on that was abysmal.
  16. I agree. However, they were probably hoping to follow on the tailcoats of already popular heroes like they did with Ms. Marvel.
  17. My buddy did these and labeled his windows for Jim Lee and Scott Snyder for three of his books. On all three books, Snyder signed in the Jim Lee box, lololol. And then Jim Lee signed his sketch cover with a silver sharpie. You can't even see the signature!
