In the words of the ever lovin’ Ben Grimm, “you ain’t whistlin’ Dixie”. With all the spine wear and chipping it’s been hard finding a nice copy that doesn’t break the bank
-
Here’s one I’ve been trying to add to my collection for a few years now. Finding the right copy for the right price was a challenge but happy to have finally found a decent one

I thought Santa forgot me but these all showed up today. Special thanks to fellow boardies Crassus and Bio-Rupp for some awesome books from their sales threads

DAREDEVIL #7 - Input and opinion please!
B2D327 replied to ROBTOTHEC's topic in Comic Book Grading and Restoration Issues
Can you post pictures of the front cover; especially along the spine. You may be able to detect a difference in sheen if caught at the right angle when light hits it. I ask because some of it looks like it could be an overflow of ink or distribution overspray so just to eliminate all possibilities -
Golden Age pressing
B2D327 replied to Steelrain41's topic in Comic Book Grading and Restoration Issues
If done by an experienced cleaner/presser and the methods they use, your book could be improved nicely to lessen those flaws. However, a book of that age should be inspected thoroughly to have been well preserved and stored properly. Any dry, brittle pages, stains and smells will only get worse and damage an otherwise nice looking book beyond reviving. That will be pointed out again,by someone experienced before making an attempt so if you have someone in mind, ask for examples of past work and references. Better safe than sorry with your valued books. -

That may be the understatement of the year

I was thinking 7 before I saw your post. Nice and a good price for the book too

I’m with Glassman10 about the check mark. Could hurt a bit on how deep the impression from the pen goes into the cover when looked at under the right lighting and angle. Safe 7.0 for sure but other factors when in hand could go slightly higher
-
6.0- 6.5 range. Aside from the edge staining, it’s a well preserved book
-
I’m trying to find that one thing that might drop it lower than a 7.0 but it’s not there, imo. Helluva nice book.
-
I’m at 5.0 too. Spinewear is more evident from the back cover and the discoloration on the edges is pretty deep
