From what I’ve seen, raw 5.0-7ish can be had for less than slabbed 3.5s. My timing has been off but I do have patience. I’m willing to spend a good chunk but it has to be the right copy for me. I can live with flaws that my peculiar tastes find “acceptable”. +1 to you also. That’s the first time I’ve ever had the opportunity to use the word “peculiar” in a sentence. I always knew reading funny-books would help my vocabulary

Love that cover. Finding a high grade copy of the DC Spectacular is damn near impossible

A major story arc or “death” of one of those characters will undoubtably give it that bump and if Illyana Rasputin winds up in the mcu fughettabouit

What's new in your Silver Age collection this week

A few more goodies. I thought the seller of the Sub Mariner was gonna flake having 0 feedback and taking about a week to update shipping for multiple wins but to his credit, they arrived 2 days after he notified me of being tied up at work. Thor 165 was an offer accepted for a nice high grade...that book is near impossible to find in decent shape at a reasonable price like the FF annual. 2 years ago I was finding nice copies for about 20-30 bucks, now it’s on everyone’s radar. This is what happens when you (unfortunately) have to sell your collection and have to replace everything you were attached to. I am having fun hunting everything down again though -

and thank you. It came in a horror lot I picked up from eBay with a few other Dell and Gold Key keys. It was the nicest in the bunch and the only one I was really looking for. The others were basically bonuses -

Ok, I’m having too much fun doing these with all the time I have on my hands being retired and all. Had this one brewing in my head for a couple of days but the other ideas came first

This one started as a pen sketch a year ago during an extended hospital stay. Imported it to my iPad last night and finally finished it up

That one there is pretty iconic. When I was a kid, Topps had a trading card set called “Creature Features” that were stills from horror movies with a funny caption on each of them. Pretty sure they used this one in the set -

Who's got the absolute coolest signed book?

Jim Steranko definitely has the coolest looking but I also dig George Perez' which I'm gonna have to add to my collection sooner or later
