Hello all!  I recently purchased this copy of Western Hearts #5 for the Hedy Lamarr cover.  It does have some insect damage on the bottom corner, but it looks pretty good other than that.  I know the insect damage will probably kill the grade, but I love this cover!  I don't think there is one of this particular issue in the census.  Thoughts on what grade it would possibly get?  Would you keep it raw or grade it?  Thank you!

Hi all, I saw this book not too long ago. The staples look a little off, it’s a silver age book. How would this affect the grade?

Looks like a thin long color breaking crease on the TRC and a much smaller one of the LRC, a chip on the top front plus a few spine creases (spine looks good for an old book)

My very amateur guess (which assumes no major issues inside or on back cover) is

  Reveal hidden contents

5.0 - 5.5 due to creases and chip

Yeah, I emailed Mike at HR and he said that tape removal is not considered restoration by CGC...he seems to be very well respected in the field.  I'd be thrilled if I can get at least a 5.0 out of it!

Thanks! I think I’m going to send it to Hero Restoration to have the tape removed and for a press. 

Hey everyone,

What are your thoughts on this Hawkman #4?  It is a pretty clean copy, but it has a piece of scotch tape on the top front cover.  What grade do you think it would get as is?  Can a professional remove the tape without it damaging it too much or it being considered restoration?

It was a private signing with Twin Cities Comics.  I agree, not bad for a fellow that’s 95!  This is my first Stan Lee sig

Haha yeah I know!  Love me some Millie!  I asked for opinions on the grade because I had the book signed by Stan Lee, pressed, and slabbed.  It came back a 7.0 which I’m pleased with!  The signature isn’t among the best, but I’m happy with it!  Pretty good placement and I love the blue!

Many times, autographs on the pages of sports periodicals have been permanently or temporarily overlooked! Always check through the pages for that, whether comics, programs, yearbooks, magazines, etc., any publication dedicated to sports or a sport.

Yeah it does, I got the book significantly less than guide, so I'm happy with it.  I will probably get it graded to protect it. 

What are your thoughts on the grade of this Golden Age book?

This is the only picture I have of the book from the person that has it, but has this book been trimmed or is this a production error and it is miscut?  How would it affect the grade?

What are your thoughts on the grade of this book?  It does have the pencil mark on the right front cover and there appears to be a stain of some sort on the vase at the bottom right front cover.
