  1. Just posting a link to my eBay page. I have a bunch of Silver and Bronze Age Batman books up for sale, including first appearances of Poison Ivy, Silver Age Riddler, Betty Kane, and Barbara Gordon.

I also have a bunch of new slabs, from a CGC 9.8 Walking Dead 1 to a CGC graded set of Infinity Gauntlet books.

Let me know through PM if you're interested in making a purchase through the boards instead of eBay. Have a great day!

  2. @Bomber-Bob @Jaydogrules Here are some pics of the books in question. There's damage at the staples like someone forcibly tried to affix a new cover to an existing book. There's just too much "bounce" in the spines when the books are lying flat. And I've provided a picture of the one book on top of an actual modern comic. The sizing is off. The paper itself isn't as smooth as normal comic book paper. But it's not your average counterfeit by any means. There was work put into this.

  3. Hey, everyone,

I'm assuming that this is a facsimile reprint of Amazing Fantasy 15. Someone with no history on the boards tried selling it to me yesterday.

My question: in terms of these facsimile reprints, what should I be looking for in terms of identifying markers of an actual copy? Obviously, on this particular one, there's no way that the pages would be as bright as they are.

  4. I'd say it's in the 8.5 to 9.2 range at the highest. I don't believe that CGC counts production errors in even the highest grades. I have a first Power Girl appearance that graded out as a 9.8 despite a common production error on the back cover. Same with a few copies of Avenging Spider Man 9. Production errors didn't keep either book from hitting 9.6. Just as a few examples. Nice looking book!!!

  5. In terms of selling, you could consign it to one of the larger auction houses (something like Comic Link), you could sell on eBay, or you could sell through the boards. Do thorough research before deciding on any course. I've attached a screen shot of the realized prices ON EBAY for a CGC 3.0 from the last two years, so you can see what you're dealing with in terms of valuation should it come back at the grade that the board members are guessing it will. Overall, though, this is a once-in-a-lifetime find for anyone, not just a comic collector, so unless you need the money right this second, you might consider holding the book to see if it accrues further in value. As you can see from the chart of prices for just a 3.0, this is a book that continues to increase in both price and demand at an incredible rate.

    Congratulations!!!!
