Mostly a Silver Age collector but got bit by the Gold bug lately and been wanting some more unique rarer items. Picked this up and was delivered today! Dell Four Color #468 (Goofy #1) Next to Mickey he was always my favorite Disney character. Happy to own it! Got a Looney Tunes and Merrie Melodies #25 on the way as well!

How to best display high value comic books
mustang33guy replied to AnonymousAF15's topic in Comics General
This thread intrigued me to read so I figured I'd chime in. I understand both arguements and would absolutely love to display my original comics. However, I just can't I don't feel the benefit is there. Posted below are 13x19 scans in my office at work and I proudly own all 4 of these Amazing Spider-Man issues with AMS #1 just recently acquired last week. I feel perfectly alright having these beauties displayed on the wall knowing that the originals are safe and I can always take them back out to look at anytime I want. As long as I know I own them and the prints remind me of what I own that's all I care about! -
Still high grade in my book! My psychological standard has always been 7.0 or higher so your good haha. I had to offset the cost of the ASM #1 with a GSX #1 6.5, ASM #101 8.0 and a Batman #232 6.5 otherwise I'd be out of luck. We all gotta do what we gotta do, still worth it to me!

Thank you! Yes I never thought I'd be able to ever swing getting this either but I knew I needed to have it once I figure out a way! a high grade IH 181 is no slouch either! Great book! Hope you can get one of them!

I experienced this last night with a person from New York Craiglist selling an Amazing Fantasy #15 CGC 3.5 for $3500.00. Naturally it seemed fishy but I had to investigate and see if it was legit. We texted back and forth and I said I would only buy the comic in person. He said he was out of town for his cousins graduation and would I like to set up a shipping method. Red Flag right there. I did some more digging and found that the images from his Craiglist listing were swiped from the last AF #15 CGC 3.5 that sold on ebay for around 14K. So that substantiated everything at that point. Always comes back to if its too good to be true it is lol. Here is the scam artists listing: https://newyork.craigslist.org/mnh/bks/6142982389.html And here is the ebay listing he swiped the pictures from: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Amazing-Fantasy-15-Aug-1962-Marvel-CGC-3-5-/142284885590?hash=item2120d70e56:g:W2kAAOSwnDxUpbjc The cert #'s are the same on both listings

Still a very underrated book I feel for being the Mr. Freeze prototype, I love this book. My 2nd copy! -
Was at Zapp Comics in NJ this past Saturday (where I venture frequently) and they had their Free Comic Book Day 50 % sale! Got all these books for half off and the total only came to around $190.00! best bulk deal I've ever gotten on 20 books totally worth going to Zapp's Annual Sale.

Hey everyone! totally slipped my mind to introduce myself here earlier. Have a few post but still considered new! My name is Adam and I collect mostly Silver and Bronze Age Marvel/DC. However like many my tastes vary to whatever character I like or covers/stories I'm into regardless of publisher. I am a designer by trade so I've always had an appreciation/passion for drawing and the arts. I also love history and vintage comics encompasses all that into one . Just happy to be here and to contribute and to see every ones great collections, thanks!
