  1. This thread intrigued me to read so I figured I'd chime in. I understand both arguements and would absolutely love to display my original comics. However, I just can't I don't feel the benefit is there. Posted below are 13x19 scans in my office at work and I proudly own all 4 of these Amazing Spider-Man issues with AMS #1 just recently acquired last week. I feel perfectly alright having these beauties displayed on the wall knowing that the originals are safe and I can always take them back out to look at anytime I want. As long as I know I own them and the prints remind me of what I own that's all I care about!
  2. Still high grade in my book! My psychological standard has always been 7.0 or higher so your good haha. I had to offset the cost of the ASM #1 with a GSX #1 6.5, ASM #101 8.0 and a Batman #232 6.5 otherwise I'd be out of luck. We all gotta do what we gotta do, still worth it to me!
  3. Thank you! Yes I never thought I'd be able to ever swing getting this either but I knew I needed to have it once I figure out a way! a high grade IH 181 is no slouch either! Great book! Hope you can get one of them!
  4. Punch my ticket to club! Very happy to be in finally
  5. I experienced this last night with a person from New York Craiglist selling an Amazing Fantasy #15 CGC 3.5 for $3500.00. Naturally it seemed fishy but I had to investigate and see if it was legit. We texted back and forth and I said I would only buy the comic in person. He said he was out of town for his cousins graduation and would I like to set up a shipping method. Red Flag right there. I did some more digging and found that the images from his Craiglist listing were swiped from the last AF #15 CGC 3.5 that sold on ebay for around 14K. So that substantiated everything at that point. Always comes back to if its too good to be true it is lol. Here is the scam artists listing: https://newyork.craigslist.org/mnh/bks/6142982389.html And here is the ebay listing he swiped the pictures from: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Amazing-Fantasy-15-Aug-1962-Marvel-CGC-3-5-/142284885590?hash=item2120d70e56:g:W2kAAOSwnDxUpbjc The cert #'s are the same on both listings
  6. Still a very underrated book I feel for being the Mr. Freeze prototype, I love this book. My 2nd copy!
  7. Was at Zapp Comics in NJ this past Saturday (where I venture frequently) and they had their Free Comic Book Day 50 % sale! Got all these books for half off and the total only came to around $190.00! best bulk deal I've ever gotten on 20 books totally worth going to Zapp's Annual Sale.
  8. Hey everyone! totally slipped my mind to introduce myself here earlier. Have a few post but still considered new! My name is Adam and I collect mostly Silver and Bronze Age Marvel/DC. However like many my tastes vary to whatever character I like or covers/stories I'm into regardless of publisher. I am a designer by trade so I've always had an appreciation/passion for drawing and the arts. I also love history and vintage comics encompasses all that into one . Just happy to be here and to contribute and to see every ones great collections, thanks!
  9. Went to the East Coast Comic Con yesterday and picked up these 6! Wasn't expecting to get a Tec' 359 but

  11. PEP Comics #76 Hey guys! Was thinking about getting this low issue PEP Comics but am not quite sure what it would grade due to the staining. Other than that the book is pretty nice! What does everyone think? Seller lists as a VF-,Thanks!

  13. So I got my GSX #1 back the other day, was hoping for a 7.0 at least. Came back as a 6.5 WHITE PAGES. Still happy its now graded! Wish it was a little bit higher but what are ya gonna do?
  14. That's not a bad guess I would say. Hope it comes back higher but well see haha. I'll post when I get it back!
  15. Hey guys! Submitted my AMS #14 graded 6.5 White Pages for review because I thought it looked way better than that. Just got it back and I was right! Came back a 7.0! Very happy with the adjustment
  16. Hey guys! Only posted a few times in the forum but this is my first time using the new boards. Glad you can post pics now! Anyways, here is my GSX #1 I just submitted to CGC at the New York Comic Book Marketplace! I'm excited and nervous to see what grade I get back, it's my first time submitting to CGC. Also submitted AMS #6, AMS #50, Marvel Spotlight #5 and Batman #232. So we'll see. Anyways, here's my book!
  17. Hey everyone! Always watched the boards but never decided to join until recently and I'm glad I did! Anyways, I enjoy almost all things superheroes, history, art and design.I am a Industrial Designer by trade and grew up with 2 very artistic parents. My favorite character has always been Spider-Man. Collected many 90's comics to read and enjoy stories when I was younger and had that lovely moment where you think your things are safe and find out that your mom has purged the house over the years and got rid of the things that you took for granted and didn't look at anymore (so heartbreaking ). However, that kind of ignited a passion in me that I can't fully explain and slowly but surely got back into comic collecting. Now I have a pretty substantial Silver through Copper Age Comic Collection and I see no reason to stop as I love it! Its just so awesome to have an outlet to share your interests with others and know that those same feelings exist in so many. Life's too short to be anything but a kid at heart and I know that is what I'll always be. So Hi guys!
