  1. Very biased toward Golden Age as well. Are there still many readers and creators today "influenced" by Yellow Kid and Krazy Kat comics? Anyway, now we have Google Trends to help us figure out what's popular.
  2. I know it can't be the comics. They would need an Infinity War-sized budget to do justice to the comics. I was just concerned that S1 looked like yet another Arrow-verse show, but with F-bombs and more violence. I'm glad Season 3 is getting good reviews, and I'll give it another chance.
  3. I also read NTT since DCCP #26. It is probably my #1 all time favorite super-hero comic run. Maybe that is part of the problem, but I am still willing to give the show a chance.
  4. I watched half of Season 1, but fell off. I watched the beginning of Season 3, and it does seem improved, like everyone is saying. Do I go back or just start with Season 3? Also, aren't Superboy and Krypto way too over-powered to be on this team? Do they ever explain why he can't just fly around and solve all the problems?
  5. My wife is in complete agreement with you.
  6. They went overboard on the hard lighting for my taste. It looked cool, but would have been more effective if used sparingly. And the last time I saw this much lens flare was when JJ Abrams was directing Star Trek!
  7. I give it a B. I enjoyed it for what it was. 30 mins. was the right length. The animation took some getting used to, but it shined in the action scenes. I think some of the voice acting was a little stilted, but hopefully this will improve. Also, I think they stopped at the most interesting part of the story -- when she wakes up in the future. For me, the best What If stories in the comics are the tragic ones, where they end up killing everyone, destroying the universe, etc. They are little morality plays, which show how it is important to accept the world as it is, instead of dwelling on how it could be if we'd made different choices. I will give it some time. Hopefully they will tackle some more ambitious and consequential stories besides just remixing characters and story beats.
  8. Buy the original comics! Past the first 24 issues, you can pick up the rest for about as much as you'd pay for modern comics "off the rack". This way you get a reading experience that is closest to the intent of of the creators. Plus you can enjoy the original ads and letter pages.
  9. I have books that have been in Scheduled for Grading since April.
  10. I have sold about 15 slabs via MCS auctions, and I consigned about 75 raw comics. I've been very pleased with the whole process. Happy to answer questions via Private Message.
  11. Fantastic. I doubt you'll have much trouble selling the IH 181.
  12. Majors's performance didn't land for me. I didn't get the stop-and-start line deliveries, and the sudden changes in tone and dialect. Maybe they were trying to show that he was some kind of schizo combination of all his variants. Or maybe he's gone bonkers. Or maybe he just wants the Lokis to think he's gone bonkers. Maybe future appearances, will clarify things in retrospect. This seems like a directing or writing issue, and not the actor's fault. Heath Ledger's Joker performance is an interesting comparison. Joker is chaotic and crazy, but also always in control, and the performance never feels muddled from beat to beat. The audience doesn't always need to know the character's motivations, but the actor should. I also didn't get the choice he presented. Why were the only two options to kill Kang, or take over TVA? Were they trapped there? If they had agreed to take over the TVA, then what? Does Kang just go on his merry way? Was there really an option that involved not killing him? Overall, I think the show was pretty good. But it has always felt a bit muddled. Like the writers don't want to commit to a specific direction with their characters because they want to leave all their options open for future stories.
  13. @Point Five Curious, on the Eerie Advs., how much of the spine is actually split vs. just worn?
