  1. But why did no one ever "feel cheated" and "claim the book" the other 7 million times it's happened on the forums?
  2. Oh yeah, that's *exactly* what happened. Did you not even read my post? I was in the thread looking at books when it happened, and I know perfectly well what went on and clearly outlined it in a post. Agree or disagree is fine, but lying isn't.
  3. Agreed, but until now there has never been a problem, and it was an "unwritten rule" that he who BINs controls the fate of the comic, assuming payment is made in some form. But all it takes is one guy to ruin it for everyone and then out come even more .
  4. Good catch, and I have seen/heard of that before, but for some reason I totally forgot that as a possible culprit. I have seen comics stored in old plastic bags and the top comic looked just like that, with significant ink loss.
  5. And in case anyone wonders why I am less-than accepting of this behavior is that I have been part of literally hundreds of threads where Person A buy a book, then remembers that Person B needs that issue to complete a run, and offers it to them, and many times I was the second guy to hit the BIN. And you know what I did? Nada, I understood that favors are done sometimes, and since Person A hit the BIN, he can buy the comic and rip it up if he wants, give to someone else, or burn it in his fireplace.
  6. Person A hits the BIN on a book, and Columbalina here hits the BIN after him. Person A sees that another person/friend wanted the books, so offers it to him, whereby Columbian Drug Lord states that since he was actually the second one to hit the BIN, he wants to buy the book if Person A does not want it. Then it turned into a "I don't want any books, take my books too, etc." biotch fest where The Masked Columbian started in on a few people and they returned fire. Later on, the OP sorted it out, giving the book to Columbo and making sure he didn't go away all angry.
  7. Nope, that's just what happens with light/sun fades colors. We left a pile of pop cans out after a BBQ, and I collected them a few weeks later for the recycling and everything was reversed, like an anti-universe. Red was yellow, light green was lighter blue, dark green was darker blue (background blues came out of hiding with the sun wiping out the yellows), etc. Here's a picture I found online from a UV experiment, and even with this mid-green color, you can see the faded areas turning light blue:
  8. It just goes to show how much power the "CGC notation" has on comics value and how there is absolutely no consistency in how these are listed. Take Scott Lang - Antman II for instance - Avengers 181 is a single panel of Lang fixing up Avengers HQ, but it's somehow the hot book because CGC notes it. And the first appearance of Antman II in MP 47 is somehow given the bewildering notation of "Scott Lang becomes Antman". Carol Danvers was around for years before Ms Marvel 1, yet her first appearance is not noted, and Ms. Marvel #1 is noted by CGC as "1st Carol Danvers as Ms Marvel".
  9. Which TR game has Lara in Venice, shooting guns at bad guys while she navigated the waterways in a boat? TR2 right? I used to like that one.
  10. I get so confused about these - I have the TR Trilogy HD set, which includes a remake of TR1 right? But TR2, TR3 and TR: TLR are not on the disc, original or remake, right?
  11. Come on, Microsoft obviously knows that the traffic is going to spike significantly, but they simply don't care enough to spend the $$$ necessary to upgrade their servers. Once you've bought the game, you're captive customers with no refunds on opened software. MS is smart and knows this.
  12. That is totally untrue and many people mistakenly repeat the oft-quoted canard. You go murder someone and you will likely get caught and either get life or go on death row. Attempted murder, manslaughter, assault with a weapon, etc, all carry stiff sentences and even basic assault can get you jail time. An adult walks down the street naked or make an amateur porn video and the most you might get is a fine or cited for civil disobedience. Shoot, up here ladies can sunbath naked and walk down the street topless. I think what you might be trying to say is that American society has always been more permissive and tolerant of FICTIONAL DEPICTIONS of violence than they have been of FICTIONAL DEPICTIONS of sexuality.
  13. There's probably a lot of these floating around, as that's what happens to most "wall books" that sit for too long.
  14. Congrats, admitting your problem is the first step towards regaining your mental health.
  15. Who's Big B? I bought it in the early-2000's from a text-only eBay listing with "vg xmen 94" in it, and that was all that was in it. I bid $35 or something, and I won it for $30 (probably most people thought it was a *new* X-Men 94 from the 2000's but I checked to make sure it has a 25-cent cover). It turned out to be a faded CGC 4.0 with 9.X structure. Good deal for me.
  16. But the new rules are designed to speed up the process, and ensure that {IF offerings are worthwhile and snapped up quick. i.e get rid of the Junk Donkeys or force them to change their ways. Other than Dr. Wiggles and his burro, PIF has actually been flying along faster than usual with lots of activity.
  17. Then just boot RMA, as he'd argue about what he had for breakfast this morning. Unlike you right? Hey, I'm trying to stay cool, but some guys like RMA are just out-there zany and argue with anyone over anything. That's what he does, That's all he does!
  18. Then just boot RMA, as he'd argue about what he had for breakfast this morning.
  19. Married, partnered, live-in GF/BF, etc., someone who is around you constantly and who will call you on BS, is probably the only way for some people to gain self-awareness. It has nothing to do with marriage, just having someone who isn't a relative or friend around to keep you grounded.
  20. Hey, just because you're crazy, doesn't mean everyone is.
  21. Not really, and it's actually a symptom of the psychotic and maladjusted. One outcome is megalomania, but there are many others, depending on how out of the touch the person is with their own abilities vs. their perceived ego. Self-awareness is the true judge of a person's character and intelligence.
