  1. GCD not much help other than confirming Prize Size is Hartley, and the Lil Jinx story is Joe Edwards, but that’s no surprise.
  2. Some, but not all. I don’t make myself crazy chasing them but if I come across a cheap copy I’ll add it more likely than not. Of course, some of the pages are from titles I collect, enjoy, re-read, so in those cases the books are here because they never left. But in cases where I obtain the art first, I can usually live without the book, though as I said I’ll grab it if it crosses my path.
  3. Batman #4 has four house ads for specific books: All Star #4, World’s Best #1, Superman #9 and… Tec #49.
  4. Shot in the dark here — did a boardie just win that coverless Kid Komics #2 with attached repro cover on eBay an hour or so ago? IF you needed it for center wraps, I need the outer two wraps and am happy to buy your unneeded parts.
  5. Now you’re talking…but even as slabs go, if you’re hunting a particular mid-grade PCH book and have targeted a specific grade for your budget (say it’s a 5.5 for the sake of discussion), if you’re at a show and there’s two 5.5 examples of the same book, aren’t you going back and forth and hemming and hawing over which visible flaws bother least, notes on the slab, grader notes if any, etc? Even within “buying the grade” aren’t you trying your best to “buy the book?” I’m assuming that’s how 99% of the boardies on here who might buy a mid-grade graded pch book would roll. I’m sure some would be quicker than others and some would put themselves through an exquisite, exhaustive analysis, but I think most would move along a similar decision path.
  6. And the audience you could direct the question at gets A LOT broader if you switch out “hate slabbed” to “prefer unslabbed.” Heck, there’s even a sizable “like both” contingent, which I’m probably in.
  7. THAT an explains why you weren’t at the Phish show instead! Dang coin toss! I’m sure Billy Joel was great though.
  8. Gotta be the quintessential Long Island New Year’s Eve concert! Took my daughter there to see Billie Eilish; great place to see a show as I recall. It’s about as big as a venue can be and still give you a small show feel to some degree. I was on my way out the door when I saw the thread — went to the Midnight Ramble at Levon Helm Studios in Woodstock —- and just knew we needed more eyes and firepower on this one, so I threw out a few Hail Mary tags! Thank you and Happy New Year!
  9. Sorry about the timing of my tag, Buzz. I saw the post and racked my brain for eBay vets. Who did you see? Happy New Year!
  10. Have you contacted eBay directly as well? We need s9me boardies who are eBay experts to weigh in; taking guesses here: @Buzzetta @fastballspecial @1Cool Please tag anyone whose expertise might help that I may have missed. Awful to see this happening!
  11. Happy New Year to all! Best wishes for a speedy recovery @jimjum12
  12. Are you working on Scooby sets from Gold Key and Charlton as well? Curious what you find to be the toughies in those runs, if so.
  13. Send a PM to @DavidTheDavid @skypinkblu @Hibou and the seller. You’ll receive Jimbo’s PayPal address, make donation there, and confirm it in the PM chain. Seller ships to you.
  14. Just landed this courtesy of @lizards2 in the fund-raising thread over in GSB on behalf of the great boardie JimJum12, (Jimbo) who recently suffered a stroke and cannot work for at least a while. It’s a great thread to check out and buy a book in (or donate a book to) — all proceeds from items sold in that thread are sent to Jimbo rather than to the person donating the item. It’s a great way to rally around a fellow boardie who could use a hand. Please check it out and buy something or donate something for sale in the thread. Here’s a link:
  15. @skypinkblu Your OA with the “PWS” signature - could that be Paul Smith? @Unstoppablejayd might know — Jay, see Sha’s post top of this page: con sketches of Miss America and Spidey and Tweety. Could that be Paul Smith the X-Men guy?
  16. Form submitted! (Expecting a houseful of in-laws and outlaws that day, so I'm probably relying on the form this year, but if I can haunt the joint, I of course will!)
  17. Most of that is in there. I did forget the Avengers Defenders war, so really you could go 112 to 177, which is the end of the Michael (Korvac) saga. And the Squadron story does tie into my favorite of the Kang stories, with all the Marvel cowboys. The narrower range I gave starts with just after Wonder Man is back, with a great Dr Doom/Atlantis battle (you need Super Villain Team-Up #9 as it’s a crossover). The Wonder Man/Vision battle comes in #158, and two or three of my favorites are right after: the introduction of Graviton in 159-160, a great Ultron story, and the Nefaria trilogy in 164-166. Avengers/Defenders is so early in the 70’s I almost forgot it.
  18. Michelinie’s Iron Man run. I think he started on #115. For Avengers, specifically #154-177 I like the whole Defenders run, but the first 55 issues or so especially.
  19. Is there a specific deadline on the form, or just get it in before noon on the 30th? Between the JimJum12 thread and cooking Italian Christmas Eve dinner I’m not as on top of this as I usually am. On the bright side, I’ve got my first Space Western the way and my kitchen smells like a wharf!
