  1. This Blue Bolt Pearl Harbor cover doesn't come up too much and is one of the few Pearl Harbor covers of the WWII era. I think it is underappreciated and I try to adopt it whenever I see one. (V4 #4)
  2. Cap --he always does the right thing, morally and strategically. He never gives up; he makes others better.
  3. That War 43 is a steal....cover swipe/homage of Two-Fisted Tales 31
  4. I've heard that, Jack, and wanted a copy for a long time. Doesn't seem to come up too often. When the guy said he did not want the CDNP and Boy comics but said 19 was among them, I just said I'll take them all. Can't wait to get a free minute to enjoy it -- might not be until this weekend.
  5. Jesus H tap-dancing kee-rist! If any of you guys had said to me this morning, "Gene, this is not a good day to buy a Batman #11," I would never have believed you! Great deals Bri; thank you! Of course, I sidelined myself 10 hours ago...
  6. Yesterday I got a call from a fellow collector in my area who has been working on getting his colleague's father-in-law to part with his childhood Batman comics for the last eight years. He had finally gotten the call; but he couldn't swing them all so I got a shot at a few. There were also an odd half-dozen Crime Does Not Pay and Boy Comics, which I happily added as well.
  7. Just got these in a collection; finally going to get a chance to read them. I suspect I am in for a treat...
  8. Nice grabs Matt! Yellow is a great little run; you'll love it! And that Jumbo cover is a treat!
  9. Hmm.... Don't see everything that was in the preview pic Mind you, I can't bring myself to cull my own golden age books, so I get it....jus' sayin' ....
  10. OH I get it....I think I have been telling myself I should do a golden age herd cull thread for about 2 years now, but Every time I seem to find a collection to buy to throw in my own way....last fall it was 16 long boxes of Classics Illustrated, this year it's 15 boxes of copper and modern .... I just have to read them and move them out of the house first, right???
  11. Can we threadkrap over there too, or is too hoity-toity? @porcupine48 I ain't lurking, Jimmers! I'm shopping! I'm krapping! I'm packing up books from my own recent thread! I'm reading a Whiz #38 that I picked up today! That's right, I took a whiz and I feel great! Annihilus, you run an awesome, fun thread! I'll head over to the other one too. Thank you!
  12. IIRC, it's considered doubtful that it was. Just looked it up to look at the current OSPG notation -- it reads (#43 exist?) I think it's believed not to, but then again, years ago, I recall one of the issues of Babe had a similar notation and no longer does. How cool would it be if a BB 43 ever turned up? I thought it was Babe #5, but I have given away most of my old Overstreets and cannot be sure on that. I do have a #8 somewhere; that's pretty early; I will see if I can turn it up. Or maybe someone with an Overstreet collection can check my memory. Fun topic!
  13. I just cut the price of my lot (page 4) to $50 -- a low grade pair, a Nellie and a Tessie. Any more lots coming from out there in Boardieland??
  14. Blue Beetle #43 is believed not to exist. (Note to that effect in OSPG)
  15. Sold books to Charlie; bought from Charlie (I think that one became a trade due to overlapping sales threads!) Fast payment, great communication and conversation! And on the sell side, great packaging and quick turnaround upon payment. Transact with confidence!
  16. Affordable Timely GGA reader lot: Nellie the Nurse #16 and Tessie the Typist #18 both Fair/Good (both covers are attached by the staples at the rear; Tessie CF detached at lower staple) -- $50 shipped within the U.S. All money to Paul.
