  1. If you've seen one of these from me before, you know the deal...there will be gold, silver and bronze; singles and lots, keys and oddities and rarities, as well as comic-related items such as paperbacks, etc. This could go for a few nights at least, there's a lotta books here, with all genres represented. Payment: Check or Money Order. (I do not have paypal). First wins; tie or indeterminate goes to the thread, but I am trying to respect the wishes of those who prefer anonymity. PM negotiations are always welcome, but takes trump (up until a closed deal is posted in the thread, of course). Shipping: U.S. or Canada at actual, usually it's USPS Priority, mthough a single book can go first class for $5. Dont be listy including the little one in my head Returns: Sure, just notify me within three days of receipt and get it back on your dime, in the same shape. You never know...you might find it!
  2. ASM annual 25 lives in every dollar box in America (and probably elsewhere too) and it's Venom's 1st solo story. It's gotta happen someday; square bound, cool cover with spidey, Iron Man, Black Panther. Pretty low-risk for the price.
  3. Seems like that might be a thing! I like it. I'll keep my eyes peeled for these too. We should have our own cable show, "In search of Beverly's Books"!
  4. There's only 1 left with the dealer I know, but I am searching for the others! I am convinced they are out there. Do "Beverly D" books have inside markings as well?
  5. Rough copy but tough book so I didn't pass it up. I think it's the toughest of three great damsel in distress covers in this generally overlooked run.
  6. I guess the answer you want is a numeric grade, so....my big question is how bad is that tear in-hand and does it keep it from 4.0 on a good day GA curve? I'd like to think 3.5-4.0 because so many other aspects seem so strong but who knows how the tea leaves get read on a given day? Without pulling out my Overstreet grading guide and reading each entry in my suspected range, I think between 3.0-4.0 but I like/lean to the higher end of that. Of course, the grade in my heart is, "Who cares? It's Catman 11 with vibrant colors! Congrats! "
  7. None can know the day or the hour...but suffice to say it is almost upon us....then, it will come without warning....like a thief in the night....then... You Might Find It! Bwahahahahaha
  8. Camped out for the Funnybook Mafia Barroom Brawl when Christian pops those Masks into the thread
  9. I agree with you; worth keeping an eye out for. Perhaps even locally (I see you're NYC) -- the address Beverly put inside the cover was Amsterdam, NY and her obit (2015) indicated Schenectady, NY. The capital area is not a stretch for NYC collectors and dealers. The dealer with the four LTMM books I found in his possession probably is not the one who bought the collection (if there is one) from the estate, or from her before she passed, as they are all he has with the "B.L." markings and name/address inside, and he could not recall where he got the four from. I know a few collectors in the Schenectady area; I will ask them to see if any of them bought and/or dispersed an estate collection with these markings. It would seem quite odd if Beverly kept only four comics from 1942-1943 and took such good care of them for so long. Anything is possible, but it does not seem like the most common pattern. I'm convinced there's more of her books out there.
  10. Think I'll keep an eye on this thread...
  11. Amen to that! I've been trying to figure out a little more about Beverly as her books were very well-kept other than the filling out of the puzzles/games. She also had the habit of writing her initials in the same spot on each book, as well as her name (upper inside FC) and address (bottom inside FC). The dealer I got these from could recall when/how he got them, and I could find no other books in his boxes with the initials. I found her obituary; she passed in 2015. I find it hard to believe someone who kept four books so nicely and crisply only ever had four comics, but maybe that's the case,
  12. Thx Sagii! The guy has one more "B.L." (Beverly Larson) book, a number 15. It looks about as nice IIRC; glossier but a little nick lower left. But it would grade lower than the other three due to a detached centerfold and Beverly's exhuberance in filling in the Christmas games and puzzles in the 15. She wasn't sloppy, just thorough!
  13. I wouldn't mind the Charlton Hillbillies title, but there's still competition when they come up.
  14. I agree it's a cool cover; I got lucky as far as locating it. A young antiques dealer that I do a lot with called me one day because he landed a small stack of GA. He's mostly a Silver and Bronze guy, so he was planning on keeping the Cap 12 from the small pile and moving the rest. So I grabbed some cash and spare bronze keys and we worked out a deal for this book, a Pep 40, and Silver Streak 16 that day. I eventually got to buy the Cap a few months later (felt like years!) when he swallowed a large, key-laden collection of bronze books.
