These Moderns are how I first discovered the Charlton characters. I was in grade school in the 70's and I remember finding them available as singles at the local K-Mart, which come to think of it may have been a Grant's at that point in time. I do not recall coming across 3-packs there, just singles. I have to see if I have any laying handy; worth a look at the indicia to see what it says. I don't know if I ever actually checked that. But I know I always assumed it was Charlton reprinting their own, due to the obvious production values of the final printed product -- looks and feels straight outta Derby, Connecticut, after all.

SOLD via PM! To a discerning and wise lowballer extraordinaire! Thank you, and enjoy! -
And if that's how you enjoy collecting there's nothing wrong with it. I've noticed the pulls and never once understood why. You and your threads are an asset to this community. They say of websites that if you aren't paying to use it, you are the product. Which we therefore all are. Why anyone would want to discourage you from participating is beyond me. I keep going back to non-traditional collecting styles. There's do much more to do in this hobby besides be a completist. Buy/enjoy/churn is a great experience too, and i think keeps the hobby healthy and fun. Hope you're staying, @Ricksneatstuff

That's it for tonight, gang! As mentioned before, the next two weeks are crazy for me, so if takes go unacknowledged or PM's sit a bit, I apologize; I will catch up later in the week this week and next, then continue with more consistency the second weekend in October. Lots of books remain; anyone wanting to get their books can just pm me about wrapping up, but taking and waiting is fine as well, as there will be lots more to come after the slower stretch the next couple weeks. Thanks to all lookers and takers; I hope everyone is enjoying this collection as I'm posting. It's a collecting area I wasn't as familiar with, but I am quickly learning the history of the Classics run, and learning how enjoyable many of them are as well!

Classics 50 Tom Sawyer original 1A edition! Thank you Dave! I had forgotten about Classics and SOTI too, until @porcupine48 reminded me that one of the Famous Authors Illustrated books (there's a full run on offer a few pages back in this thread, which reminded him) had brought it up. I think it was eight Classics in SOTI, as well as three in POP. Eventually, I'll get examples of all into this thread so readers of each are available; not in all cases do I have original editions unfortunately. (I am NOT hoarding any original edition SOTI classics, gang -- my keepers from this collection are the original edition #1, a couple of the horror covers such as 29,40,41; and maybe the 33 Sherlock Holmes but I am on the fence. I also want a couple early originals for their back covers with the coming next ads -- the ads for Dr Jekyll and for Uncle Toms Cabin, which are in 12 and 14, respectively.)

Agreed, but it's not ridiculous to think that Kang is coming. I'd love a grey hulk movie or three; ramping up his intellect, dumbing down his power and giving him that persona would make it easier to sustain solo films. Less directly related, I'm hoping the return of the FF to the fold plus big plans for Antman and the wasp means they reboot in unexpected, fun style: we need Psycho-Man, Annihilus, Wyatt Wingfoot and and Antman and black panther cameos before they try to cram the origin and the Galactus trilogy into a reboot film. They need a strong departure from previous efforts. But I digress.... Mostly, I think the stage gets set for Kang as the next baddie for the next version of the Avengers.

If it HAS to be a 9.8, space in your brain is not cheap enough for my gimmick to work! Yikes! I'm stumped. -
More SOTI /POP to come, including early LDC's that are not original editions, if you just want cheap reader editions of SOTI books. But that's a wrap for tonight. PM's are welcome on anything in this thread; if I posted it here I want to find it a good home, as this was a big collection with plenty of keepers selected already. I cannot keep them all
