  1. First up, in. GVG, is Thrilling Romances #9. I cannot identify the two models on the cover, but they look familiar. They are also on the cover of Love Experiences #33. Let's say $30 NOW $15
  2. Here's last night's pre-code romance recap: the only things left are True Love Problems and Advice Illustrated #'s 10 and 24. We will start with the last two romance books planned for this thread, and segue into GGA/teen humor, then a few Archie titles.
  3. Foiled by the dog. I'll pick up tomorrow night; sorry all. I'll just open with the final two romance books then post some teen humor/GGA and Archies. Then we will probably move into a different genre Sunday night. Thanks everyone, purchasers and lookers! I hope everyone had some fun!
  4. Slight "paws"...the dog had needs Seriously, I have also caught up with everything I have shot, but there are only two more romance books left in the stack so I will shoot and post those tonight. Then we will pick up tomorrow evening with GGA/teen humor (more affordable Matt Baker) before segueing into Archie.
  5. SOLD! These just don't come up....True Life Secrets #16, in about a 7.0-7.5 that would be an 8.0 or better if not for the chip lower left front cover. Still, a tight clean flat Charlton with a tough black cover. Also, one of a handful of romance covers with a black character on it. $100
  6. SOLD! My Own Romance #72, also VF, perhaps presenting a bit better due to the more forgiving white cover. Again, two late Matt Baker stories (per GCD) along with Jay Scott Pike, under a Kirby/Colletta cover. $150
  7. SOLD! My Own Romance #68, VF though some tanning. Vince Colletta cover, two Matt Baker stories; Colletta inks Baker (not called out in OSPG but reported in GCD), as well as stories by Joe Maneely, Jay Scott Pike and Russ Heath. $150
  8. I take it back; the next two are post-code Atlas, but they each contain two Matt Baker stories, some of his very last work. The LCS I acquired these from claims they were Marvel office copies brought in by a retired Marvel employee. These two were outliers; the rest of the collection was bronze.
  9. SOLD! The only other post-code romance for this thread, but a tough, iconic Ken Bald cover...ACG's Romantic Adventures #123 in GVG with some paper loss above the S on the logo. $40
  10. SOLD! G.I. Sweethearts #32 (#1) formerly Diary Loves. Ogden Whitney goodness from Quality Comics Group. Gotta top this out at the low end of Fine due to some cover chipping. But flat, neat, clean and just not out there. $100
  11. One last Harvey ... True Love Problems and Advice Illustrated #10 in VG/FN. Le Elias cover. Very cool double threat house ad featuring Hi-School Romance #10 (rape story) and First Love #13 (I Joined a Teenage Sex Club) $40
  12. R SOLD! omantic Hearts #3 (2nd series, Nov '53, Story Comics) looks nicer (great gloss and colors) but VG due to a crunched up bottom of front cover. Has a waviness but no staining so I doubt it was wet. Looks like it got hit/crumpled once and paper did not bounce back. $30
  13. SOLD! True Love Problems and Advice Illustrated #24. Flat and pretty but I am topping it out at Fine due to some spine wear and light foxing/aging discoloration visible on the white area of the cover. All comps I can find on this one are about 10 years old; it doesn't change hands much and with good reasons: This issue is called out in the guide for "rape scene" and frankly it's not overt but two different scenes could be the implication they are talking about. On the other hand, there's also a choking that would do Good ol' Charlie Biro or Johnny Craig proud. Great cover story Sin Town about "girls who sell their kisses and men who buy them cheap!" First issue in the title's "new direction" per splash page. $80
