  1. Welcome! Give us some sense of the price range you want to be in and your taste. What are the major and minor keys you've acquired first? (For a sense of what you like).

And I'm with Comicjack on MGA80.... Great book whose time has waited too long to come!

Awesome find! Congratulations! I've always been a big fan of this Classic PTSD Cover.

Thx! I've been looking at the image in "The Art of Jack Kirby" for years without ever seeing an actual copy. To be flipping through a ragged stack of Dells and DC's at an antique shop (nothing special) and come across this made my day. Not like a Suspense 8 (congrats Jack!) but pretty cool. Especially when it's that unexpected find in the midst of a pile that's not so special as you flip through.

That's okay....surely many of us have lots of books on our lists we don't necessarily expect to come across any time soon ... We get used to it, no?

    Deep Purple.

I tried a similar, more narrow (too narrow?) thread in silver for those deep purple Marvel 60's covers. I called it eggplant love. Such as the one above, DD7, Strange Tales 135 and 148, Shield 1,  and Iron Man 1. When they are still highly glossy, they look almost like they are still wet off the press.

Gerber was off on many things...use the scarcity index with a grain of salt...

I also got this in 1974 for 25cents...from the OO, and then had Kirby sign it...

    That is awesome cool!:applause:

I realize about Gerber; I keep the salt shaker next to them. I'm just wondering about anyone else's perspective on Foxholes -- are they common as  a 4 suggests and I just don't know it, or are they not seen that often, like I think?

I have found that comics in antique stores are usually overpriced.  Was this one overpriced, or reasonable?

Generally, I have found the same thing you have, but this was the exception to the rule. It was actually a bargain. But it's an outlier.

This particular shop specialized in military items; war comics are kind of ancillary acquisitions for them on occasion.
