  1. speaking of Oliver as Werewolf of Paris. here is a link to some magazine covers, some with old Oliver on them.
  2. Oliver. He lived hard. He died hard. Best Werewolf ever! OH and he ruled in Hammer's PARaNOic!
  3. SO NOW I have this amazing collection of Batty Buttons only missing the Frankenstein AIN'T I CUTE?
  4. I thought for sure NO WAY will the second button be a universal monster and if it is lucky enough to be, it will probably be a dup of the ones I have. but no, it wasnt' a dupe. not at all. CAN YOU FORKIN BELIEVE IT?@!?!?!?!??#?$#
  5. so the story behind the battty buttons, the universal monster ones... I bought 12 unopened packs off ebay, and six mind you SIX were universal monster buttons. I mean the odds are stacked against me but it worked. the seller listed 2 more unopened packs and I bought them, they showed up today. the first one I opened... cue sad horn: wah wah wah
  6. here is a proper display pic of my buttons... not that tacky yellow cardboard homemade thingy I had earlier. waiting for a second case to arrive tomorrow for the batty buttons
  7. that is an amazing piece of sculpture. You are one lucky guy to have picked up on that piece. I got that book ordered and hopefully coming in the mail this week. I can hardly wait.
  8. My luck was very good. 6 monster buttons out of 12. I came to that game late, the seller had already sold another 12 packs. I bet my Frankenstein and werewolf was in there. couple of Batty Buttons on eBay, but ridicously priced.
  9. okay Count. here is the rest of the Batty Buttons I have.
  10. here is my big elwar button collection and a teaser on the Batty Buttons.
  11. to answer a question, yes there is a 1st issue Big Button Frankenstein. I just don't have it but I would sell my eye teeth for one. Yup they refined the artwork for the 2nd big button release.
  12. Info on the 1st big issue buttons is arguable at best. UMA has an entire 18 pages and counting devoted soley to the Elwar 1st button issue mystery. (elwar button mystery). Ill break it down best I can. The 1st issue Big Buttons can be seen in a photograph of Forest J. Ackerman at a store promoting the Famous Monsters paperback release sometime in the early 1960's. He is clearly wearing the 1st issues, because the artwork is less refined than the 2nd issues released. it comes down to early 1960's release for the 1st Big Buttons. and I believe the little buttons offered in gum ball machines came later, because the artwork is the same on the little buttons as the 1st issue. Theories abound about why the big 2nd issue buttons were produced. from Universal copywright infringement on their monsters, which makes more sense to me, to the original artwork lost to a fire. Anyways, the 1st issues are extremely rare, and when they pop up for sale, dissapear quickly.
  13. new member here. here is my collection of Elwar buttons, 1st issue Big and 2nd issue Big with Elwar on curl. also some newly acquired Batty Monster Buttons and other familiar buttons.
