  1. its not Greg Land. Deodato is well known for referencing photos of actual people/celebrities. I just thought someone would know who the runner is he referenced. Now why would you assume this was referenced from "a runner"? The build? Im sorry but your statement to disrupt or discredit this or any of his art work to go against the grain of people liking the cover art and dipiction of America is baseless. Do you know the reference? No Do you know if there is one? No Can you show the community examples of refferenced work? No Im not being a ...im just pointing out a stupid comment to help you be more aware. I mean you have the right and freedom to say as you wish but...who wants to sound stupid?
  2. I believe the foc, for the c2e2 variant (PX?), is Monday the 30th. I think I will add 5 to my order... I wouldn't put too much stock in a PX variant. They typically don't do too much value wise. I wouldn't be either. This series is being heavily specced on as it is already m Marvel is making a push for the charts with overships and like 7 different variants of their own on top of offering store exclusives. Its not like this is going under the radar. I've been quietly scooping variants featuring her from the last few years when I come across them in the wild for cheap. One of the nicer ones you can probably find in the wild for $5 or less (currently) is the Ultimates # 5 Putri Women of Power variant. I actually came across the Ultimates # 2 Jim Cheung 1:25 in a back issue bin at one of my honey holes for $3. I'm all-in on America Chavez but a bit leery of speccing on her # 1 issue. I think this is the best if not one of the best covers for Ms. America. Its 1:10 so not the rarest but certainly not to be found in a dollar box. See like 2 or 3 on the bay atm so im bidding on one. Oh...its actually a pretty good title also. Cool Galactus story line and features the 1st appearance of his "new transformation" No spoilers. Check it out for yourself.
  3. And as far as the series? I have every issue starting with #5. Waiting to submit entire run for grading one I find or press a few I already have. Think the best I'll do is 9.0 or so on the run. Purchased my #5 and #6 before the movie spec. ..luckily.
  4. There hasn't been any #19 that is a 9.8, I've looked for awhile for raw copies and have not came across any that would even get that grade. Which books have you acquired so far (graded)? Thank you. I have a few I purchased on-line that were advertised as NM (none of them actually are)...one of them has black ink color touch on the cover. I recently picked up a raw 8.5 from Metropolis Collectibles and was able to pick it up in person. Very nice copy with little to no color breaks. Maybe a 9.0 with professional press. I missed the boat on a 9.0 cgc auction 3 months back but no big loss...it was a miswrap with tons of white on left margin. Never seen one in a LCS back issue bin or wall. Lots of lower grade copies on various sites. 6.5's or lower. I suspect more will come into the market one people catch on but not for the price I'm looking for.
  5. Wait a minute! Are you actually comparing books like Iron Man 1, Sub-mariner 1, and Doctor strange 169 to books like Inhumans #1!?!? Wow...that's hilarious. No further comment.
  6. OK list...I'm not knocking it BUT Come on guys. Let's get a little creative. Most of these "first issues" are way over printed and nothing much "key" about them besides being a 1st issue. Much better bronze books to go after...especially pertaining to Black Panther and Inhumans. Point taken, but BP #1 does have a certain artist that brings some form of attention to the industry, and what's not "key" about Nova #1 and Luke Cage #1 (both first appearances)? Oh well certainly The Nova and Luke are the keys of the bunch. I said "most" not "all" I take 6 books with 2 being important...that equals 4 books that are not "key" beyond being a 1st issue. Basic math says "most" You have a good point about the Kirby art on BP #1 but really by that point Kirby had drawn BP so many times...also his BP was very "off-beat" and odd (not characteristic of BP at all). Not saying that's a bad thing. I was really just stressing to collectors not to focus to hard on "1st issues" because there overprinted and the only real people buying them are the investors cashing in a a 1st issue on a character with a movie or TV show and the Lemmings that do not know much about comic continuity that buy them thinking it's a long term investment. The books go up with announcement...an example is Inhumans #1. It was a 5-10 book at best before any speculation. Why??? Because it's not a particularly good book, its common as dirt, and not really "key" pertaining to anything. So pay 80.00 for a copy...see were that ends up in the long run. I say at best it will settle down to a 30-40.00 book and stay there for a lifetime.
  7. I know this is an old tread. It came up on a Google search while trying to track down some high grade issues I'm missing. I've been collecting this series for a while now (2 years or so) and have to say...the latter issues are so hard to find in a high grade. I've been picking up raw copies when I can find them with Jungle Action 19 being the hardest to find on a consistent basis. Has there been any new news on #19? Any 9.8's yet? And lastly...does anybody have or know where I can buy a copy "raw" high grade? Thanks
  8. No...no scandals. And to me "lcs" is any of the many that I frequent. If there are 4or 5 that are in NYC? That is all local. I don't live in the mid-west and many books are available here. Even Midtown comics. There's 3 locations in NYC and there back bins hold much much more than "on-line" inventory.
  9. I highly doubt the validity of this claim. All in ONE shop? Where? Not Mike High and not Lonestar, because neither have all of these rarities in-shop or online. So, what great comic shop are we not aware of that has all of these books that very few of us are able to find? I never said 1 shop and my statement is a fact. If you require me to disclose? OK sure... 1.Tate in Lauderhill Fl. (Just got back 2 NY days ago) 2. The Stand (small mom and pop store in BK NY) 3. Mysterious Time Machine NYC 4. St. Marks comics NYC One again all the recent "last issues" mentioned in the pat few days with exception to Static 45. Thank you very much for your inquiry...maybe you should visit some of these shops instead of making accusations and trying to be a smart azz. Not trying to be a smart aleck and there's no need for name calling. You said you found them ALL "at lcs" meaning you found them all at one Local Comic Shop. If you are traveling around the East Coast, then you didn't find them all at ONE local comic shop. You might have found them all in various comic shops across the East Coast, but not one as you stated in your post. BTW, the question still stands unanswered: Did you find a copy ocf Scandals in those local comic shops? You keep misunderstanding. Let me start by saying "stop being so sensitive" be a man or a mouse...it's up to you. I didn't call you names so stop "acting" like a drama queen. Again I said "acting" not that you actually are. I never said all the books on the list from day one of this thread. I'm referring to the books that have been mentioned lately. And no...many of them are not that hard to find from comic shops with a healthy backstock. No I didn't get lucky...but after them being mentioned here? They are disapearing. I frequent different shops often and many of the "last issues/next to last issues" are available in back issue bins or on walls for shops that know what they have. If you want me to be specific? I'm talking about the punisher issues, she hulk, Deadpool, ghost Rider. Books that are not readily available "on-line" because nobody really cares about them. Most not worth listing. They are available...trust me. Or dont. Means nothing to me. Overpay for garbage if that's what you like to do (again...not you specifically) I have to be very carefully with you...so I'm not accused of being a bully
  10. Agreed - those two and Luke Cage 1 are my fave readers. +1 Absolutely love Special Marvel Edition 15 with the introduction of Shang-Chi. Even more so once Paul Gulacy started on the series with his poor man's version of the Steranko artwork and style. Now that is an excellent book that I've somehow forgotten about! Very undervalued...great read...room for growth...not that readily available in high grade. I'm going to track one down. Thanks
