Good Friday everyone. I very regrettably need to sell a few cherished books, and as part of this am offering up this copy of Adventure Comics #44. I am loathe to do so, but such is life! There's also the chance that I change my mind after a good night's sleep. There are no apples to apples sales comparisons, or trends, to refer to that I can find. Those who will want this book know how rare and significant it is, and can decide if they want in. A "Fr/G" recently sold for $1000. With this copy you get the assurance of a Universal Blue label, and a nicely presenting copy for the grade IMO. What was once Captain Desmo's can be yours! Adventure Comics #44 CGC 1.0 (25 Universal copies graded). 3rd Sandman cover., 1st issue with green-suited Sandman. Shipping is $15 to continental and $45 to Canada - I ship from within either the USA or Canada, so regardless of where you live you won't be charged any customs etc. I'm happy to ship anywhere else (please contact me for rates). First "I take it" in the thread wins, and then has 24 hours to close the deal. If not, the next "I take it" gets it etc. PM offers and questions are welcome as well. Payment via Paypal preferred. No returns on CGC books unless the case is damaged in transit. Thanks for looking!!

Bronze age comics that are heating up on eBay...
Frank.Einstein replied to PeterPark's topic in Bronze Age Comic Books
This prompted me to check, and lo and behold, I found my childhood copy! Still enclosed – boardless no less – in the original yellowing bag, where it's been resting since reading it. A few times. As much needed relief and escape from having to prepare for my looming Bar Mitzvah... Man, that was a fun series! I just might reread it this weekend. -
Thanks! I was just taking a breather from 3 hrs of conference calls and got lucky.

(SOLD) Avengers #4 Mid Grade Raw Copy
Frank.Einstein replied to LOC Collectibles's topic in Golden/Silver/Bronze Age Only
Gorgeous for the grade! -
Likely because Avengers #1 doesn't have any 1st appearances, whereas X-Men #1 does.

I think you know that you want to have the book restored, so just go with your heart on that one! In terms of who to use, I've had both Tracey Heft (Eclipse) and CCS (through dialogues with Matt) conserve Golden Age books for me (as well as a couple restorations). They both do excellent work, as do many other professional paper conservators. While I am sure there are amateurs out there who do good work, as someone who works with conservators (of many types of media/materials, but non of whom work on comics...) I personally only feel comfortable letting trained paper conservators work on my books. Good luck!

GUESS THIS! The most common 1960s book AND grade...
Frank.Einstein replied to valiantman's topic in Silver Age Comic Books
My vote's for one of the Iron Man #1s. I'll go for the 6.5. Can't see any of the FF 48s even being in the running. But I'm dying to know!! -
I'll take it!!! As per PM...
