  1. What am I supposed to argue with you about here? You post a book with sales to back it up. If the trend continues then its a hot book. You sold to different buyers right? You don't know them right? Nuff said. All the other stuff you are taking way to personal. My concerns with the site for the most part have been addressed. They posted in their website what I thought they needed to address. Going forward it will make them a better site with less thoughts toward manipulation. Way too personal. He's taking it personal because they are about to make him an admin at cbsi. They already made him one on the youtube podcast live chat. Why do you think he defends their corruption so hardcore here?
  2. math is hard I'll be the wet blanket and explain, that's a 73.33% drop, not 300-400%. Yeah, I was on the road and thinking/typing fast and totally spaced out and my brain thought of an increase in price and not a decrease. Ha!
  3. Marco Checchetto has another hot variant out tomorrow. His 1:25 for Gamora #1 is already selling between $80-100. All copies between $10-50 were snatched up days ago, and auctions are starting to get a lot of action. His Thunderbolts #7 1:25 from a couple weeks back is still on fire as well. All copies selling well above $100. I would seek out the Gamora #1 1:25 at shops tomorrow.
  4. Cooling? How about the Venom #1 Dell'Otto Variant sets? Pre-sales were $375+ and sets now are under $100 bucks. Sure, the price was bound to drop once copies were in hand and then listed on ebay, but a 300-400% drop in a few days to a week or so?
  5. Yes, but many of the Venom #1 Dell'Otto Variants fell short of the 9.2, yet they still sent them out.
  6. I would recommend everyone take them out of the polybag. The polybag and board are not acid free and will ruin the book over time. Plus a lot of these books seemed to have back cover damage and it's impossible to know whether yours do without opening. Plus you need to remove in order to grade.
  7. It's unfortunate that two people from cbsi jumped all over me here when I tried warning people about the condition of these books. As someone else said a few replies above me, I wasn't talking out of my butt. Anyone else know why only the cbsi guys seemed to have an issue with me being open and honest about the condition of these books? I've now read that not only is one of their admins splitting the cost of the entire print run, but I've also seen people on other boards talking about cbsi admins being involved and making money on the guaranteed 9.8 CBCS group they have and this set was one they had a 9.8 guarantee for. Someone also sent a link for a top 10 list that cbsi does and #1 was the Venom Dell'Otto Secret cover. Are all 3 of the above issues considered normal and/or fair? Just seems like a possible conflict of interest.
  8. They were in those polybags that you see at stores like Hot Topic and bookstores, not mylar. People today were saying they received copies only in those polybags and not in an additional bag and board. I missed out on the rare variant, so I didn't bother grabbing the color and black/white; but I did grab some sets of the Ghost Riders and am now worried since those are in these polybags as well. I don't know why Marvel put these books in those? It's been known for ages that those pre-bagged polybags cause damage during the bagging process, along with books being damaged by handling/transit since they can't be stacked evenly and bend easily because of the flimsy board. The boards aren't bigger than the comic either, so the comic can hang over the edge and get damaged easily.
  9. For one, I honestly have no idea who you are. I was told that someone on cbsi named Simon told another admin that many were damaged. The guys I talked to said they were told by this admin. For two, I'm not "Brian", and to hear you come out and assume I'm this person is pretty ridiculous. I've been a lurker here and many other places and tend not post things publicly. Hell, I have a Facebook account I haven't used in a year or two. I'm a private person.
  10. There's a post on cbsi right now with a couple people already saying they received theirs today with spines that were damaged and creasing on the back.
  11. Well I just asked the people that I heard this from and they said a guy named Simon told an admin on cbsi that many of them were damaged. Supposedly they were told by this admin Simon told. I don't know about other people or their involvement with others, etc; I was simply relaying what I heard. I definitely wasn't trying to cause any arguing, I just thought it was something worth sharing. I do apologize if others are upset, and if I knew it would cause problems, I wouldn't have posted.
  12. So some folks were told on Thursday or Friday, by an admin at cbsi, that the Venom #1 Dell'Otto's have a decent amount of spine damage they feel was caused by those cheap bags and boards Marvel decided to put them in. He said it looked like the 500 print run covers had the most damages. He said they decided to still ship them out to everyone and that they expected numerous complaints in the near future. He made it sound like the majority of the print run was affected, so it doesn't sound like any 9.6/9.8's on the horizon. Hopefully the majority don't fall into the VF/NM (9.0) range or below. I missed out on these and nearly pulled the trigger on a decently priced set I saw on ebay a week or so ago, but now I'm glad I held off to see what happens once people start getting them in hand. I heard from people that the Ghost Rider Dell'Otto variants are in those Marvel bags as well, and that bums me out since I did grab a couple of those sets already. Sigh...
