I have read the $3.99 Newsstands were in a sense, the same test market the .35 cent variant was in it's day. I have been reading a lot lately about this subject and understand it is still very divided... Thanks for your insight....

Thank you for your well put together response... I am fully aware of the earlier price variants from the other ages which is why these caught my eyes... Thank you for the insightful information and as previously mentioned I will just sit on them. For a $1.50 each and in the condition they are in I assume one day I will be able to at least triple my investment! Cheers!!!!

So I just recently found a ASM #559 with a few others at a Half Price Books that are Newsstand/UPC/Price "Variants". I have read (Like many others I assume) the Word Press article stating the "rarity" of these books. I checked the census and there are 0 $3.99 price variants listed for #559. Does anyone have any information on this topic? Thanks

Hello all! I have a question for the collective minds regarding Image BRIGADE #1 vol 1 Newsstand/UPC and the Trading Cards? I have just received notification of my completed grading for my book. It is a 9.8 Qualified missing the Trading Cards... I was under the impression the Newsstands did not have these inserts in them, am I incorrect?

Picked up a NM JL 31 Newsstand for .99 off FeeBay and buying them cheap when I see them....

Sorry, I didn't know there was a guideline listed on taking pictures of reflectives slabs. I am also so it makes it hard for people to see the comic book that everyone knows what the cover looks like. I am also sorry for not being an abled bodied photographer! You may insert sarcasm into any one of those sentences...

Well, I noticed BC had given the general public the opportunity to purchase this NYCC exclusive online. Although I still put off on this book I still was warmed to the welcome of allowing others to get this variant online to the VAST MAJORITY of people who could not purchase this in NYCC. I reached out to BC this morning and sent them this message... I made my point; the opportunity to purchase is there now for others not in attendance which was half of my grievance! I share this because sometimes businesses need to hear people issues and then there CAN be change… I do not own one of these covers nor intend to purchase one as the Red cover is where it’s at anyways… Cheers

Again, to piggy back off my Horror post I am still new in collecting and being knowledgeable (to the best of my extent) but this is my latest to come to my PC.

This is my recent find... I am still relatively new to collecting (with real knowledge) only a couple years now... But I am getting addicted to Pre-Code Horror books!

I absolutely agree about how amazing this cover is, that with the popularity of the new villain, there was a really good chance this could be the book to have if you collect Batman mini keys. Just another betrayal of a company with BS print runs...

To all those that responded, thank you, as many understand my point in the detraction from value and the perceived "money grab". I have seen the response from BPC and their equating JSC promotions; I would like to use him as the perfect example of WHAT TO DO! JSC has been releasing limited edition covers with the GENERAL PUBLIC having the ability to buy a set of covers, to INCLUDE the Ultra-Limited CON's, at the SAME TIME OF LAUNCH! They sell out online and THEN say hey, if you missed your chance come see us at the CON. I can respect that process but this after the fact BS is troubling. I spend a lot of money on comic books and I am sure they can see I have purchased from them before and I am done with them now. I don't give a if someone paints the next Mona Lisa they can keep their books!

Just a sad day in comic collecting...

Looking for a little help on here as I am WAY OUT of my comfort zone for this! I found this book for an unbelieveable price in a box at a local comic sale. I know what the book is and "how rare it is" but I am looking for some much needed guidance on what to do and how much this book is worth. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. This book is flawless and is signed by Todd McFarlane and Al Simmons. The black ink level is almost non-existing....
