  1. CGC Submission Question - I Made An Error on the Form

Hi. I just made a slight error on my online CGC submission form.  I listed the same book twice and did not catch it until after I completed the online submission form.  I have given them my credit card info, but I have not sent out the books yet, so it's no big deal.

    My questions are:

    1) Do I need to call CGC and cancel this submission? Or, should I just never send in the first order form and just do a new online submission? (Would the first order just disappear because they never receive my books with the first packing list?)

    2) Can I call CGC and correct the order and not actually cancel it.

    Thanks in advance!

  2. Picked this up at a flea market yesterday.

I wish it was a spinner rack, but I'm still pleased with it as I only paid $20.

I am not too familiar with Asterix, but apparently he is extremely popular in Europe.  Also, based on the size of the pockets, I assume that Asterix is a magazine size comic.

I'm not sure how old this rack is, but I'm guessing it's from between the 1960s and 1980s. Any information you have would be appreciated! Thanks!

    Hello boardies,

First time posting with the new board, don't want to create a  topic regarding my Ebay situation and not sure if this is the appropriate place, hope you can advice me with this situation:

A buyer from Europe (Poland), low rating (5), offers to buy a collection I have $4.5k offer out of $5.5k asking price. At first I declined due to uncomfortable low rating buyer and from country that I don't usually see buyers. He keep pushing "any chance You change Your mind? :)there is no option to buy such complete sets here in Europe so it's actually my only chance to buy it at once instead of collecting sets and single issues for couple of Years...;)" then I insist that the only way is through Ebay GSP to ship the collection, he/she agrees " yeah it's cool, i already used it several times and it works for me, at least it's safe for both sides. so now let's meet withe the price:) global shipping program will automatically add 23% of the value to cover customs office tax.. "

The offer price is reasonable and I will sell it for that price if it is buyer from US and other familiar countries.

    Question:

    1. Can I still get scammed if he/she filed "not as described" "incorrect items" with Ebay and I am liable for it?

    2. Would you sell it to this buyer? User name: jon-snow-lives

His recent feedback is from 0 rating buyer account; however, the previous 4 ratings are from more experienced sellers.

I just looked at the other 4 sellers: they all selling something similar to "guide on how to make money online/Ebay/social media", might have answered my own concerns, but what you think? May be he/she just a reseller?

    Any advice is greatly appreciated.

    Thanks!

Personally, I would not sell an item(s) of this value to an international bidder.  Too risky.

  4. Shipping for CGC slabs is $12 for the first book and $2 for each additional book.  Books will be shipped via USPS Priority Mail in a well-padded box.  If you buy a lot of books, I may be able to give you a deal on shipping depending on how many you buy and your ZIP code.  I cannot ship slabs via Media Mail.

Shipping for Marvel Essential Trade Paperbacks will be actual cost to ship via USPS Media Mail, which will not be very much. Shipping for all 6 will be $7.

I only ship to the United States. No international shipping (even Canada), sorry.

Payment is via PayPal only.  Payment is expected within 7 days from date of offer to purchase.

Returns accepted only if I misrepresented an item. Returns not accepted after 30 days from date of purchase.

    No HOSers or Probationers please.

First :takeit:wins. Feel free to PM me as well.

If you have any questions, please ask before committing to buy.  Thanks!.

  5. I'm about ready to bail on this series...  It's getting a little annoying how virtually every enemy that Supergirl goes up against seems as powerful or more powerful than her.  She is way underpowered in this show.

Also, in one episode they say that Martian Manhunter is one of the most powerful beings on Earth, but then they show the White Martians to be far more powerful than the Green Martians.

  6. I had this happen once.  Turned out that the person claiming to own my book had the same book with a serial number that was only one number off.  We had bought the books from the same seller and for some reason the other owner used the serial number in the auction, not the actual serial number on his book.  The seller had been using a stock image for the auction. It finally got resolved after 3 attempts to add the book to my registry.  So, it could be an innocent mistake or perhaps not.

Thanks; that does make it clear. Even most of my Gen 1 slabs appear to have a solid inner well. This book is the only one I found that doesn't (grade date 7/18/2000):

I've never seen a soft inner well on a Gen 1 case.  I'll bet this was graded just before the transition to Gen 2.

This book used to be a 9.2 (before I owned it). The tearing at the staple was caused by movement of the book within the inner well. It was in a Gen 1 holder. I'm not sure I know how to identify a solid inner well. Could someone clear that up? I'm wondering whether any of my other GA books are at risk due to being in the wrong kind of inner wells.

Didn't they give away some slabs at SDCC right as (or maybe right before) they opened for business?  I wasn't there, but I seem to remember that.  I don't think those slabs looked anything like this one.

This is the only CGC prototype/sample book I have ever seen.  It looks nothing like the one above.

They are still inner wells, there's different types and it doesn't depend on the period of time, it just seems situational.

Generally, heavier books (usually older book) got a solid inner well. The worry was that a heavy book in a soft inner well would tear at the staples due to the weight.  However, I do have some light modern books with solid inner wells and some heavier books in soft inner wells.

  11. Can CGC verify if there were any "prototype" slabs like this?

I find it hard to believe that CGC would send out a "prototype" without the company logo clearly displayed on the front of the label.

Also, the fact that the slab is cracked leads me to believe this is not genuine.
