  1. Excuse the smudging, I would clean that up and rescan it, but that would require finding the drawing in amongst all my clutter This is a disappointingly low-grade copy I bought on ebay (never thought I'd write those words ) At least it looks nice and solid from the front.
  2. I'm too new to collecting Archies to be able to distinguish between the artists - stop showing off! Anyway, this arrived today: Note how the buffoon Archie ignores the sweet yet hot Betty, who is throwing herself at him...gosh! Steve, is there any chance you could scan Christmas Stocking 1, 2 and 3? I don't have those yet!
  3. And finally, Arch hittin' the jackpot in a rare pence-stamped copy: Wonder what the elves are thinking... especially the one on the left...
  4. I rather like this one: I trust you're all noticing the gap in Archie's teeth!
  5. Rather than start that new thread, I'll just lazily post in this one. Archie kept the gap in his front teeth after becoming cute; and since I literally had nothing better to do, I found that in Archie #92 (May/June 1958), he has no gap, but in Archie's Christmas Stocking #5 (1958, no month), he has the gap on the cover headshot, and in some but not all of the interior panels. Conclusion: er, sometime in 1958.
  6. If it does exist, the person who commissioned it deserves to be fired. Is it really a stupider title than Batman Rain-Blo? I suggest...it is.
  7. "Well, firstly I sent wants lists to every major dealer...Then as they acquired books over several years, I bought them. Now I have every one." I can't see it being as enlightening as an interview with Jerry Robinson or Carmine Infantino... ...and that's not a personal attack on anyone...
  8. Probably all depends if she has a copy of that rare DC comic "How You Can Defend Your Home" Genius. In all probability, none of us will ever say anything that funny. At least not in public.
  9. I thought so too, it was an impulse purchase, spotted on ebay with about 4 hours to go...who searches for "G.I. Combat" once a week, anyway? Does anyone know anything about the cover artist, Mr Grandenetti? Not a name I'm familiar with...
  10. Hey, I have a 10-Center! It came in the mail today, in fact... And the stories have happy endings too First story is by Kubert, 4th by Russ Heath, don't recognize the other two artists
  11. As an owner of Essential Ant-Man, I can say that #54 is fun despite whatever shortcomings the villain and his henchmen may suffer from! The basic premise is that the people of Santo Rico have elected a communist-supported candidate! Hank can't believe it: "Why would they elect a red?" So Washington sends Hank and Jan to investigate rumours of a commie plot! I could tell you if they find anything, but that would spoil your fun... Actually, the standard of the stories in that TPB is pretty good, for such an overlooked character as Hank Pym.
