    $800 loss?

Couldn't you just ship them to CGC, and ask them to do enough damage to them to get the grades lowered to 5.0??

Maybe a tear on an interior page?

    :baiting::fear::ohnoez::whistle:

It wouldn’t be an $800 loss for me.  It could only potentially equate to that if I was able to secure all 4 books via trade and if I paid today’s FMV for the books I’m offering (I did not, much less in fact).  Also, based on the lack of response to this thread I don’t see myself getting 1 book this way let alone 4.

Also, couldn’t you just scroll past this post and not thread cr-ap it with ridiculous suggestions?!  Probably not as ridiculous as what I’m offering but I’m the first to acknowledge that.  Thanks for the bump though (thumbsu

I think I bought my latest Spidey a year ago and it was my ASM 15! After acquiring the majority of the big Marvel SA keys and Spidey keys I felt that my motivation dropped and I needed some time to reflect over the direction of my collecting. I was then to the point where I owned 344 out of the 400 first Amazing Spider-man issues. I have missed the hunting though, and even my wife has been asking me if I am not taking my collecting up any time again soon lol.

So I took everything out today, refreshed my memory about where I was and started making a mission plan! :-) I am going to continue where I was with the first goal being to complete the first 10 issues (I still need 7, 8 and 10) and then the rest of the first 20 (I need 11, 12, 16-19). And then take it from there! #7 in CGC 7.5-8.0 is my direct next goal.

Here is a photo with the earliest Spideys as of today! :-)

    WELCOME BACK!! :applause:

  3. Going to try this TRADE thread one more time...

Here is what I am offering (all pictured in the post below):

    ASM #7 CGC 6.5 White Pages = $650

    ASM #10 CGC 6.0 White Pages = $550

    ASM #11 CGC 6.0 White Pages = $575

    ASM #12 CGC 6.5 White Pages = $550

Please note that the BIN monetary value of the above books has been listed to comply with forum requirements.  I do not want to sell these books. I want to trade them in a 1 for 1 straight up swap.

Here is what I am asking for in a trade:

    ASM #7 CGC 5.0 White Pages = $450

    ASM #10 CGC 5.0 White Pages = $350

    ASM #11 CGC 5.0 White Pages = $375

    ASM #12 CGC 5.0 White Pages = $350

Please note that the monetary value of the books I am asking for in trade value has been listed to comply with forum requirements.  I am looking to trade specifically for the same issues, just in this EXACT lower grade (5.0) with strictly WHITE pages (not OWW)

There is no catch here, this is a legitimate offer (and essentially a free upgrade) to whoever wants to take me up on it.  I am willing to be the "loser" in this trade from a monetary perspective because I am trying to complete a linear run of ASM 1-20 in the same grade and page quality (pictured below).  I consider it a win-win because the person I trade with gets a higher graded book without losing the page quality, and I get the specific book in the grade I need towards finishing my run. At least that is how I am rationalizing it to myselflol

I recently completed an Amazing Spiderman 1 to 50 run all in CGC 8.0 or better, except for number 1 which is a 6.0.  The hardest one for me to find was number 2 which I finally found in 8.0.  Seems like there are plenty of 7.0s of this book, but not 8.0s.  The next toughest was number 11 for me.

I love this set of books.  Marvel comics at its finest!

Haven't bought anything different for my ASM keys this year, but here are two upgrades I've gotten in the last month or so on books I already had. Previous copies were also 8.5's, but upgraded to White pages and slightly better wraps on each. Despite the weird spotting on the inner well, the Berk 20 is absolutely sick to behold. Should've been an 11.0 :)

Here's the SA gang all together: All white pages except the 9 on the left. All 8.5 except the Annual.

Congrats! I love that cover.  Back in 1966, Cherokee Bookshop in Hollywood had a copy in the front window with a price tag of $25.  I always looked at it, but never had that much to spend on a comic.  Over the next 3 or 4 years that book never sold, and it's cover faded and faded from the sunlight...

Thanks!  I was really fortunate to get a copy with such vibrant colors and bright whites!
