  1. The one that got away. I had consoled myself for missing the Dallas Collector's Summit this year by buying the last USA Comic I needed to complete my 6 through 17 run. Or at least I thought I did. They cashed my check back in November and told me that it would take a couple of weeks to clear; now MyComicShop tells me they sold the book to someone else and I bought it before they could remove it from their website. *&^&*%&@$#$$! Just heartbreaking. No real blame on Mycomicshop just looking for some shoulders to cry on.Do wish they had noticed it was sold before they cashed my check though.
  2. The slightly brittle book is a head scratcher. I bought this book raw through Heritage as a VG. I agreed that it was a VG and page quality was cream to off white (is that still a thing?) Read it with no flaking and did not notice any soft spots.
  3. I have one brittle book and one slightly brittle in my collection. This USA Comics #8 used to be G.A.tor's. I have not had it out of the slab but he told me it is still readable; it is the spine that is completely split throughout the book. I have no idea what this would sell for now.
  4. That has got to be a hard book to find in decent shape. That looks like a nice copy. Congratulations!
  5. I bought this one off the boards last year. I owned a copy back the mid to late 1980s but sold it along with the 4 and 5 to pay a medical bill. Price on it seemed to always out pace my earnings so it took me almost 30 years to get another copy. I'm hoping to get a number 4 as well but we'll see. The prices on Timelys are going up almost every day, it seems.
  6. This book was a Grail for me ever since I was a Tween flippin' through the Overstreet Price Guide.
  7. I managed to get this last year at the Dallas Collector's Summit.
  8. Gun stock across the chest to spear in the chest
  9. Wow! My All-Select Comics #1 got a 7.5 primarily due to staple tears like that. I need to resubmit!
  10. Wow, I am glad it worked out for you. My package was, at best, not delivered to the correct address and is now sitting in the backroom of some store in a strip mall, unopened and forgotten. At worst it was just straight up stolen. Doorbell camera would not have helped in this case. Anyhoo, Heritage just refunded my money so I'm out the comics but not out any moola. I would rather have the comics though.
  11. Well, still no sign of them. I've filed the lost package paperwork with Heritage; hopefully, they will refund my money. Even credit for future purchases would be ok.
  12. Why that is a perfect example of a picture taken with a potato. I fondly remember my days in science class making one as a project. Powered by a cucumber with tomato skin for film.
