Perhaps.. i do consider action 1 and tec27 in there own league. Superman 1 as somewhat distant 3rd
Still think bidding frenzy had an effect on it since there was a beatiful off white to white Action 1 that sold august 2016 missing just the The first wrap! It had 6 superman pages amd the centerfold!!! Unrestored CGC blue label that was a year and a few months ago
With that logic that would be an 80k book amd the voldemort opy that sold last summer at heritage off white copy complete amd presented great excpet for rusty staples of action 1 sold for 67k.. that would be 100k++???
so a complete unrestored tec27 or action 1 would be the 0.5 100k club?

It's not a true Tec 27 without the Batman pages IMO
Yes. i found it mislwading since it was a blue label cgc with a photocpy cover in the holder so all you see is the tec27 cover. I was lt a bidder i found it was worth 10-12k not 22k. bidding war frenzy imho.
-
logic is there... Are you bidding on this book? This is a 20k book big diffrence than 1-5k superman page of an action 1.
Are you Going to bid? No. I did. Received the Email from barry lf Heritage.
I am a real bidder and this is my logic. when You pony up 20k for a coverless trimmed book missing a cf then you can make your assumptions.
The Comicconnect copy also Was cgc and in a an old holder with a tec27 cover so it presented Like it had a cover. CGC wont allow this now. So these would have to be slabbed indivudially And purple labelled. Costing time and monies.

Correct me if I'm mistaken but didn't a coverless copy with no Batman parts and also no centerfold sell for 22K or so a month or two ago?
If that's the case, this copy with 100% of the Batman story would have to be worth at least 2x that, so 40K+?
Its not cgc... also this is trimmed and almost to the borders and aslo remove from a spiral bound. The fact that its not cgc like the other and also heritage didnt nitice the missing centrfold till 5 days before the end of auction. Cgc would have caught it
If this was cgc it would be restored and the comicconnect one was not.
Also page quality on this one is slightly brittle as mentinned instead of cream to off white
I think woo woo is right in the 20k range

Yes a complete centerfold not trimmed and split like the one this would have been.. Under 20k is not a bad price for this copy but the centerfold gone drops the price...............
Thanks for the input! Your Experience is appreciated

They missed that the cf wasnt there. Thats what the email said... So they thought it was. Wish i had a screen shot of all the pics before. Im sure they would not remove a centerfold last minute. Crazy both available tec27 coverless missing cf( the one on ebay)

The heritage coverless trimmed and spiralbound is now missing the centerfold.... Its now noted on listing
How would that affect the value. A centerfold should be around 10-15k easy since it would complete a tec27.
How would that affect the value since i was informed by the Barry Sandoval i could remove my bid since they thought the cf was there. Now reflected in listing

A great Book. Just wanted to sate the history of this Book. Never said its not worth it. Like insaid in hindsight a great invetsment. I just couldnt get over it was split and reattached for a grade bump. A great Looking 1.5 2.5 or whatever you call it.
A 400k ++ book a coverless copy would sell 100k so this book is a a 400-500k today and i see it rising steadly.
Any unrestored tec27 and action1 are great investments and corner holygrail pieces that trasncend the hobby.

That's what I thought as well.
So if all the tape is doing is re-attaching the cover, and a detached cover is allowed at this grade range, then the tape did not improve the grade here.

Again, I'm not sure what the story is with this particular book, but there definitely have been lower-grade GA keys that were helped by being taped. Hence the rules change.
This book was sold at heritage. You can look at there archives. It was a 1.5
The spine was completly split.
sold for 83k in 2009. i was offered this book for 120k when 2010 it was taped up. Then 150k in 2011.
This book is a 1.5 that looks higher
But still in indsight a great investment that i should have bought. Just didnt like the fact they called it a 2.5

I think the coverless Cap #1 in the CC auction will sell for 12-15K.
There is also a coverless Superman #1 in the same auction, already up to 13K. I wouldn't be surprised to see that one sell for anywhere between 20-30K.
The Superman 1 ended at 14.2k. A steal since the unerestored 1.0 sold for 110k and the restored one Sold for 150k at the same auction. i see it being worth 25-30k . A great stal for a complete Superman 1 coverless unrestored.

Sorry yeah not sure, I was referencing zen514's comment.
If* A complete action 1 is a 100k book now, then* Tec 27 surely can't be far behind.
Not publicly. Tec27 coverless copy would very near that.
You can own a low grade tec31 af15 7.0 or an Action comics 1 or tec 27 coverless

Cursory view says your front cover looks better than the 6.5's just sold. Who knows maybe a 7.5?
It does look better

Its The holy grail along with Action 1 being at the top. Action 1 transcends the hobby.
So a complete tec 27 would be almost 100k...An action already is 100k for a complete coverless
any batman page single format 10k-15k
the centerfold 15-25k for someone who needs to complete there copy.
-
Me neither. i was thinking 20-25k
Not 15k since. theres a huge pent up demand. Its like the Tec 31 of The Joker!!!
-
The 2016 was missing the first wrap a month later a complete sold at heritage for lose to 70k
-
The cap 1 coverless complete just sold for 9.5k
-
The 6.5 on comicconnect has less than an hour to go and its at 13.5k.... A steal at that price. Even comicconnect placed the : If a new bidder for item over 25k. Please contact prior to bidding. I see this copy at 20-25k with big growth potential if a nermint copies comes along and hits 6 figures.
Any Complete copy resto or nonis in the 5k range.
