Got this little gem from a recent Catrick sales thread. Love the suit on the crook on the right!

While not as memorable as #24, CDNP #25 has one of the best covers of the run, back when Biro's covers were heavier on action than dialogue.

Sparkling Stars, is that all crime stories inside of that 64 pager?

Here's another lurid crime book, not as infamous as the tongues cover, but pretty creepy!

I looked and couldn't find a thread dedicated to these underlooked books. I thought maybe us criminals needed a thread for our selves and let the long underwear crowd have their thread back. Here are the ones I posted there plus a few more gems. Show 'em if you got 'em!

I just saw the result. Jiminy Crickets. About twice as much as I would have guessed. A 4.5 A-3 sold for 4,560 a year ago. I see it's only a small amount of color touch but 15,600 is even a little high for a blue 3.5 I would have thought.

Same thing here with Startling #49, I expected page quality to be at least off-white but it came back as cream to off-white.

That's good to hear. And now that cgc is grading pulps a lot both graded and ungraded are being offered all over. The fun never ends even after 50 years.

Cheating a bit here. This isn’t a comic. But very cool none the less. Paid $10. What would this go for if it were a comic?
Never thought I would say this. But after over 50 years collecting comics, I either have, or have had, or not going to get the rest of what I still want. Seems like I have pretty much seen everything and am mostly just upgrading books now. Yeah, I still seek out some stuff and buy them when I see them. But my comic buying has slowed down considerably.
I have always bought pulps when I ran into them, but was never a big focus. There are SO many great ones and they have really ignited that spirit “of discovery” in me again. They have brought me back to the days in comics when everything was new. At the end of the day, comics and pulps are really the same to cover collectors especially in a slab.

Only 3 copies graded higher on the census, and it's tied with 4 other 9.0's.  Only 49 graded copies total. I hesitated to list this book, since I really don't want to part with it, but I have my eye on something else, and with my car issues throwing an X-factor into the equation (not THAT X-Factor  ), I might have to cover my bases.  This book might get yanked if I end up changing my mind or my car's issues aren't as dire, so grab it while I'm in "sell it" mode!
The scans are not mine (my scanner doesn't fit scans), but they're from jbpez's original thread (used with his permission) from when I originally picked it up. While I'm open to an offer, I'm not 100% convinced I want to part with it, so the price is pretty firm here.
