So the consensus seems to be that AOS 500 Platinum Edition likely received a print count larger than 10K. Still surprised there isn't an official number floating around out there. Though, each Superman 75 Platinum Edition was numbered on the back, whereas 500 was not numbered at all.

I would imagine the print number that adventures 500 received would be less than the 10k Superman 75 had.

Adventures of Superman #500 Platinum Edition - Print Number?
Ok, this is something I've been wondering for a while and for the life of me can't find an official answer via google search. Does anyone know the number of issues that were printed for this particular issue? I know the Platinum Edition for Superman 75 was 10,000 and the subsequent TPB Platinum Edition print run was 4,500, but have come up dry for an official number on Adventures of Superman #500.
For those who don't know, DC released limited Platinum Editions for both the "death" (Superman 75) and "return" (Adventures 500) of Superman. 1 of each were given to comic shops/dealers as a special incentive for selling said issues, and along with the variant covers/poly-bags lacked a bar code/price.
Superman #82 Not all 9.8s created equal?

Superman #82 features what very well may be my favorite Superman cover of all time. Drawn by the unmistakable Dan Jurgens and inked by Brett Breeding, it is the final chapter of the Reign of The Supermen storyline, which brought the Man Of Steel back from the dead after his famed battle with Doomsday. Even during a time where gimmicky covers were a dime a dozen, it’s still extremely striking.
With that said I noticed that the color intensity in the chromium covers varies from issue to issue and is noticeably different, though it does not seem to affect the grading process. Also, the “Superman” moniker on some covers appears to be downright transparent, even with text visible from the first page of the issue through the cover. Again, this does not seem to affect the grade.
I know there are a more than a few DOS collector’s around these parts and was wondering if anyone else had noticed and was puzzled by this...
As as you can see from these examples, all graded 9.8, they each look vastly different. I know sunlight exposure can “yellow” books, but was also wondering if this was perhaps the chromium cover reacting to possible pressing. Thoughts?
