  1. Thats madness. Imagine going in to get one and being told that. The idea that a retailer would deny service like that is crazy. If your worried about meeting your regulars demands dont you just hold some back then tell those who are still looking that some may drop out of pull boxes and they should call in a week (or whatever date you decide to put them back out). I get the guys concern for the industry but cant people who want the story read it digitally? Can they not buy the TPB? It also doesnt really apply to this issue. If 1 and 2 were failures then hardly anyones reading it anyway. Should he not be happy that the speculation on issue 3 is helping him move on his stock of #1 and #2? It always feels weird when shop owners are complaining that people are in the shop wanting to buy something.
  2. Cool cool, I was putting myself in the place of the seller and thinking I would be unhappy to get a neg or neutral feedback and not have the chance to fix any problems the buyer had. Maybe they didnt know it could be sent in a box for no extra charge. Maybe they are total scumbags who dont care... maybe not... I cant load the original listing so I dont even know their name or their feedback score.
  3. TBH I dont know, I didnt even go back and check the price he paid. I just offered a suggestion as to what could be said in the message to the seller. $13.75, Domo Arigato also says it could have been sent in a box for free? I dont know the ins and the outs being UK based.
  4. How about "Hi I have received the item but I am a little unhappy with the way I have received it. First I paid $x (x because I cant be bothered to go back and check) to have it shipped and you've stuck it in a padded envelope. I feel I have been over charged for the P&P costs. Second the slab itself while not cracked or scratched has arrived really dirty. Like really, I even think there might be a booger on it. Is there anything that can be done regarding the p&p costs or the price on the slab due to the dirty condition it has arrived in? Thanks for taking the time to review my message, I hope to hear from you soon." If they reply positively then great. Work from there. If not thank them for the reply and leave the feedback. I mean it cant be that surprising to hear "hey, maybe speak to the seller first". At least give the person a chance. If I was the seller I would throw some money back to you to try and secure the positive feedback, they may do the same.
  5. Are you not going to talk to the seller before leaving feedback? I would not be happy to get a slab like that either but it did arrive undamaged. Maybe asking about the p&p pricing. If you get a poor response fill your boots on the feedback, but talk first, no?
  6. Or they have over paid for it in the 1st place. While there are lots of brick and mortar shops or serious collectors selling on ebay, there are also loads of people just trying to "speculate and invest" and often they buy too high and have no option but to wait and see if they can make some money on it. Some of the pricing on Modern variants are mad. Some poor soul thought the 10th dell otto virgin variant of the month was going to be big and paid too much for it now its still sitting there 6 months later at the same high price. Such is life.
  7. While the Stan Lee stuff is all very sad, I just needed to find out. https://2paragraphs.com/2016/08/little-women-atlanta-is-monie-at-46-technically-a-little-person/ “The average height of an adult with dwarfism is 4’0, but typical heights range from 2’8 to 4’8.” So yes, according to the LPA, Monie fits the definition of a little person. " I hope this helps those who have been unable to sleep since the question was asked.
  8. My collection started with this classic https://marvel.fandom.com/wiki/X-Men:_Alpha_Vol_1_1 Then onward to the Onslaught saga. Oh the 90's, not likely to be the fondest comic book era but everytime I see that Alpha cover it takes me back to that comic shop. Pushing the cover in my cousins face asking about Wolverines hand. Many better series over the years and many better events but I wouldnt trade that memory for any of them.
  9. Didnt expect to even find this in the UK. Signed and sketched too https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Ampho-Man-1-PGX-9-8-Signed-and-Sketch-by-Mike-Kaye-Lunchbox-2012-501271637/274093957755?hash=item3fd145e27b:g:MxsAAOSw88VdyxGN
  10. For me the Punisher logo, white skull on black background, has become a cool symbol on its own. I work in retail and a number of times I have said to someone wearing a Punisher tshirt if they are a big fan of the comics. Most of the time they dont even know its a comic book thing and just think its a cool skull thing. In the UK its been linked to boy racers too. Stickers on their cars and promotions with No Fear. I would think all this helps the characters popularity and then also the price of the 1st app.
  11. LOL those bitties on Mystique.. I mean that is supposed to be her... right?
  12. This book? https://www.mycomicshop.com/search?TID=157071
  13. When he was Jared Leto actor he was fine. He can act and you didnt even really know he was there. Now he is Jared Leto leading man and he is super annoying and hard to listen to when promoting the movie. Anyone who is too method is hard to listen to. Even Daniel Day Lewis suffers from it.
  14. I feel this. Living in Scotland I used to have to drive 1hr to get to a comic shop. Now both of those have closed so now its a 2hr drive. I hardly ever bother but miss the craic.
  15. Hey All, I have been here for a while but not in a while, so now I have to get mod approval again to post. UK based Marvel fan needing to get better at low end grading. See you around the boards.
