  1. Yes, thst. Rival Sons (midnight sons) was also really good and Clutch was Clutch. 5 hours on my feet was rough. My wife wound up able to come for the Clutch portion, despite all the 50 somethings it got pretty rowdy with a lot of moshing about 20 Feet away.
  2. Not that anyone claimed it, but I sent the ticket tI the wife in case she finishes her teaching gig early, but she isn’t dressed for this crowd
  3. Oh well. General admission is all standing. We shall see how I hold up.
  4. Never heard of Madball, but I think I'd like them for working out.
  5. Maybe I'll just let someone in at the door with my extra. I feel kind of dumb buying two tickets but my wife was a go until last Friday when she suddenly got a teaching job on Thursdays, I was so excited that they were finally in NYC as I had opted not to schlep to NJ or PA in the past.
  6. Any NYC locals interested? All my people I was going to use my spare ticket on bailed (including my wife, who, ironically, will be teaching 5 minutes from the show). One ticket free. First come first serve. Ticketmaster isn't allowing re-sale, but it looks like I can transfer it. Seems like a waste not to use it. I am not sure if I get a seat or it is standing, it is general admission. Cost me like $64 after fees. And how is this comic related? If you know Clutch, you know half their songs are practically comic stories.
  7. People who don't know anything about comics would never walk up those stairs to either location and only someone who knows nothing about comics would spend money on any of them
  8. Just like the cylons and humans on BSG
  9. I'm still fat. Just less so. 255 at my height (5' 10" on a good day) isn't exactly skinny. But, technically, no longer morbidly obese. Yay.
  10. Very cool. I found one of these in the dollar boxes in Koch's Avalanche of Wonder. I have no idea how none of the other boardies who used to scavenge there missed it. I was pretty excited even though it was more like a VG/F.
  11. Bummer that I did not see this a few weeks ago. I don't have time to put together a stack and get it down to Florida before the end of the month.
  12. There's a newstand at the union square station and I think he had a long box of books at $5 each. I went through the whole box on the off chance that at that price, nobody ever looked in the box, but yeah, there was nothing decent in there
  13. It was well loved. Plus, it is a "Fine Minus" by 1982 grading standards...
  14. I've lost 75 pounds since I hit my recent worst in March and have a host of health issues over the last year that could not have been made better by being morbidly obese. Want to lose another 75, but that much might not be realistic.
  15. I am the same person as the old "The Blob" who has been here 20 years, but I seem to have forgot my password and I am linked to an e-mail address that got corrupted that I can no longer access, so I'm starting over again here until I can figure out how to use my old login. I'm "less" because I've lost a bunch of weight.
  16. I felt so smart doing this before the covid crash, and then so stupid not getting back in at the right time. I probably lost a couple of years of retirement income.
  17. Too much care an maintenance. Samr reason I turned down a free chicken coup and chickens for my backyard when a friend offerd
  18. Penalties for eBay Shill Bidding and Penny Bidding Penalties for shill bidding vary depending upon whether those accused of involvement in the scam face state charges or federal criminal charges. When the eBay shill bidding is part of a large scheme and involves other crimes like forgery or the sale of counterfeit goods, penalties become more serious. Shill bidding has resulted in criminal prosecutions in New York State under the Donnelly Act. The Donnelly Act, found in New York’s General Business law Code section 340-347, is an antitrust law that prohibits bid rigging and price fixing. The Donnelly Act has been used by prosecutors against people accused of shill bidding in online auctions. Being charged under this Act can result in a maximum four year prison sentence, and a fine of $100,000 for individuals and $1 million for businesses. Shill bidding may also be considered a form of wire fraud, which is a federal offense under 18 U.S. Code Section 1343. Maximum penalties for the crime of wire fraud can include two decades imprisonment. ------- There may be an exception if all the shill bidding is under the reserve amount just to get the reserve to be hit. The crime happens when someone is "harmed". None of this should be viewed as legal advice from me. Do your own research.
  19. If you win your own auction, not illegal. If you pumped up other's bids resulted in someone else winning an inflated auction, it may be
  20. So kind of like how I need to spend 30 minutes filling out forms to get reimbursed for 72 cents in postage?
  21. Are the porch thieves going to report you to the local po po for waving a gun at them? Pretty easy to have a rifle/shotgun up there if you're not a felon or mentally ill, I know handguns require a bit of work. What's worse where I live (Brooklyn) on our local neighborhood group someone showed video of a porch thief and the usual suspects found that objectionable because we don't know if they guy really needs the money in these tough times... oh come on, stop the nonsense!!! Last time a guy rang my bell asking for money to "feed his kids" and I told him to hold on a minute and I came to the front with a bag of groceries and he cursed me out. I guess he didn't really need to feed his kids!
  22. But "sales" like this get worked into these spreadsheets and averages, no, but not GPA?
