Won this in the recent Comic Link auction. The Glob was a character you could call a precursor to the Swamp and Man-Things, I suppose. Don't see this book turn up on the market very often. Had this issue when I was a youngster along with several other Herb Trimpe Hulks from that era. Enjoy.

One more auction win from Comic Link. And, like my win from yesterday, another cover scene depicting war, this one from the Vietnam era. A particularly difficult issue to find from the Diana Prince run. Interesting to see her blasting away with an automatic weapon, instead of wielding the proverbial sword.

Won this book on eBay today. My first signature series purchase in four years. Continuing with my acquisition of Neal Adams covers. Features the first appearance of the Tornado Twins, Don and Dawn Allen, far future descendants of Barry Allen. Enjoy.

Won this in the current Comic Link auction. With this book, I now have all four issues with Neal Adams interior art on this title. Surprised to find my winning bid was well under $100. It's back to buying comics again after taking a break during the summer. And this is a good one to start with.

My latest acquisition from the recent Comic Link auction. This book being from 1966, it's the oldest 9.8 in my collection. Always nice to have books in 9.8 from this era, which I have very few of. It's also nice when they end up at a lower price than expected at the end of the auction. My winning bid here was under $300. Enjoy.

Just won this on eBay. The last Deadman story in this title. This has always been my favorite Neal Adams run. Awesome covers and stories to boot. Enjoy.

Just won this in the latest Heritage auction. A tough to find book with cover artwork by Neal Adams. I'm now concentrating on books with Adams covers during the period from 1967-71. Surprised to have won this book for under $250. Enjoy.

After going the whole summer abstaining from purchasing, I'm back to collecting comics again. Just won this in he current Comic Link auction. The first of the "mod" Diana Prince issues and very much sought after. Don't usually see this book on the market in grades above 9.0. Enjoy.

So, this book is back on my want list. The consignor who listed it at Pedigree Comics must have resubmitted it, without removing it from the website. This I found out because when I tried to add it to my registry set, CGC informed me that the certification number was not in their database. Well, these things happen, but the consignor needs to get his act together. Pedigree Comics tried to get a hold of this person to find out the status of the book, but to no avail. Got my refund, so I can stop sweating.

Won this on ebay today. Nice cover that I've always admired by the late, great Herb Trimpe. Enjoy.

Won this in the Comic Link auction last night. The greatest of the Neal Adams runs was GL/GA, and I could not pass up the opportunity to acquire one of these in 9.6. My winning bid was not too high, either. Enjoy.

A very tough book to find in slabbed high grade (9.2) that's taken me ages to acquire. Awesome cover by John Buscuma, the second in the five issue Infinity saga. It's also my first Marvel book after spending the last year buying nothing but DC. Unfortunately, I'm unable to save the image of the book from the eBay posting.

Avengers 93
By john ivic,
Picked this up from Comic Connect yesterday. The beginning of the alien war saga courtesy of Roy Thomas and Neal Adams. The most valuable Marvel book featuring Neal's artwork. Would have preferred a higher grade, but one buys what one can afford. Eight more Adams books to go. Enjoy.

Picked this one up from Pedigree Comics just now. A landmark issue in that it features the first pairing of writer Denny O' Neil with artist Neal Adams. The two would go on to greatness, of course, with the GL/GA run a few months after this. This issue also takes Batman into a more gothic area, which would continue for years throughout the seventies. Definitely one of the holy grails of my collection. And my first signature acquisition since 2016. Four more Adams books to go. Enjoy.

Picked this one up just now from World Wide Comics. A nice pedigree copy and also an OAK, as this is the only 9.4 slabbed copy. Another lightweight fantasy cover for this title, which was so prevalent with DC at the time. Still, a guilty pleasure nonetheless. This was absolutely my best year for acquisitions. 39 CGC books in all. The breakdown - 19 DC, 16 Marvel, 2 Warren and 2 Amryl. Happy Holidays everyone! Enjoy.

Whew!!! Time to take a break from comic buying before I bankrupt myself. No more books until 2018. All in all, I had one of my best years ever for acquisitions. Maybe the best. I raised my total registry points from 64,000 to 77,000. Speaking of points, this one is worth an impressive 850. Fourth appearance of the new X-Men. I'll get back to the journals next year. Enjoy.

Won this in the Heritage auction last night. The last of the Warren magazines with Frank Frazetta cover work that I wanted. Probably one of the toughest to find in high grade too. And it also features interior artwork by Neal Adams. Enjoy.

Picked this one up on ebay today. The start of the Mar-Vell/Rick Jones body transferral between Earth and the Negative Zone, by way of the nega-bands. This new situation would eventually lead to the Thanos saga a couple of years later. Now if only I could afford a high grade copy of Marvel Super-Heroes 13, the first appearance of Carol Danvers. Enjoy.

Picked this one up today at the Niagara Falls Comic Con. An awesome 9.2 that looks more like a 9.4. And on top of that, Neal Adams, the artist of this cover, was there. Chatted him with a bit and bought a reprint book of Deadman stories from Strange Adventures, which he signed. This was my third meeting with him at a show. Also, for the first time, a finally met Jim Steranko here today. Very nice guy. Anyways, enjoy.

Just won this gem on ebay. An interesting take on the Kong story. Seven of them actually, in this issue. Frazetta at his best, as is usual with his Warren covers. Like my recently purchased Eerie 7, this is another super tough one to find. Enjoy.

Back to the journals after a winter hiatus, with this win in a Comic Connect auction. Actually, an upgrade. Had this one in 9.4 already, but qualified (detached staple). So now I have a universal copy. Enjoy.

This was the second book I won in the last Comic Link auction, along with the ASM 71. Yet another Neal Adams cover, but interior work also. The purchase of these auction wins will be my last one for a while. I'm now on lay off from my job due to the Covid -19 crisis. I don't know how much of an impact this will have on the collecting industry, except to say that most books will now be going for lower prices than usual. I imagine several collectors will have to sell their cherished books to keep on paying the monthly bills. Stay safe everyone!

And so the collecting of books with Neal Adams covers continues. One of the very first, if not the first of his covers on a Superman title. Not too easy to find this particular issue either. Adams would continue to do the Lois covers for the next 16 books. What with doing the cover work on Superman, Action, Jimmy Olsen, Adventure, the Batman titles etc. - one wonders where he found the time to do all this. Enjoy.
