  1. Sorry that you're done with SD Con...I completely understand though...I stopped going to SD Con years ago after going year after year starting in 1990. I always enjoyed going to your booth to see what you had...always quality material...I'm glad I was able to acquire a few things from you over the years when you were at that show like Shade Bachalo art, Eisner Spirit page with P'Gell, etc....Good memories!
  2. I once owned Crimson God by Kaluta and the colors are deep, vibrant, and rich on that one...same with Ayisha...not sure about No You Damn Swine as I've never seen that one in person, but remember it being for sale on Ebay over 16 years ago...Ayisha is definitely a beautiful painting in person...
  3. The current owner kept the Wrightson Frankenstein wrap around cover in the same frame that Henry H. had... To the right of the photo of Henry H.'s living room that's not shown above the small tv stand was BWS's masterpiece "Fate Sowing the Stars"...that oil painting after seeing it in person IMHO could hold its own against those masterpieces by Millais, Rossetti...no kidding...the size, colors, composition...it was stunning...viewing his collection in person was one of the greatest experiences I've ever had in this hobby!
  4. This is easy for me...to my mind, outside of EC, the next best pre-code horror comics I enjoy reading are those by Superior Publications out of Canada...unlike EC, whose stories are essentially morality tales that get you to think about life and the world...Superior stories are diametrically opposed to this...they are a real hoot and a lot of fun. They are surreal and bizarre at the same time with improbable storylines that make you wonder "who comes up with this stuff?"...Ajax-Farrell put out pre-code horror comics of a similar vein. For example, from these two publishers, you'll find stories where zombies take over the world, gangsters who via experimentation turn themselves willingly into apes and fight among themselves to be the leader, a twist on the love triangle turned wrong when a genius scientist tries to get revenge on his cheating wife by plotting to kill her lover, but unfortunately the lover dies accidently, so the scientist uses his genius to bring back his wife's lover back to life...he succeeds but then then the lover kills the genius scientist and goes off merrily with the wife...I could go on with more...truly nutty stuff but it's loads of fun to read...all of the interior art is done by the Iger Shop, so from issue to issue you'll see the same type of art stylistically...there are also some really, what I would view as classic pre-code horror covers from these two publishers that no one talks about like Black Cat 50, Horrific 3, etc., yet they're still classic nonetheless (e.g. Haunted Thrills 5)...but man, those stories!
  5. I was blessed to be able to view this piece with the first owner and then the second owner...it looked incredible both times. And the patina was about off-white when I viewed it with each owner...both displayed the piece out of direct sunlight. I was even given a high quality giclée by the first owner which is pretty much like viewing the original given the resolution of the scanning that was done...definitely Bernie at the absolute peak of his abilities, skill and craft...
  6. Was the price on the Gulacy/Adkins Master of Kung Fu 33 page 1 splash 14k? And did it sell? Any info would be much appreciated...Thanks.
  7. I'll take the Men's Adventures 26 CgC 4.0!
  8. Take Planet 66 (3.5) per PM...
  9. I'm talking about when the Kaluta Conan painting sold roughly 10 years ago...I know the person who sold it then and this current result from C-link is within a few percent of that sale price roughly 10 years ago...
  10. I know who sold the Kaluta Twinkling Conan painting back then and the price it sold for in this C-Link auction is really close...within a few percent without a doubt.
