  2. Congratulations Flee! Thank you again for hosting this contest.
  3. Lighthouses typically have a brick structure, but there are some block/concrete construction. They usually only have small viewing windows for sighting and there are a few with viewing platforms below the actual light. They do not typically have larger open areas for wind to catch. The blocks are curved.
  4. Vs the way these were built that were German and American built during WWII
  5. Outside look of them in shoeburyness A further back view where you can see the gun mount and drain.
  6. The view is from inside where the gun was mounted. ( you are looking at it from the guns point of view. The steel used in the upper as well as support poles. Plus the way they used concrete pre cast blocks that are poured together. What the little thing you are looking at was probably the drain with these being open when water gets in it has to be flushed out so the artillery wasn't in standing water.
  7. I have toured a lot of old forts, bases, artillery fortifications, castles, etc on Google Earth . There are some amazing places. When I saw the structure I knew. Couldn't find the exact one as a lot of them didn't fair too well. The iron near the top is a LOT more rusted . Almost every military structure has subtle differences in how they are constructed. Also the view reminded me of the North Sea. MOD History.. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/MoD_Shoeburyness
  8. I would agree, but it currently could cost upwards of $100k for a top tier top census of Action Comics #1 or Detective Comics #27 to be graded and how many lower grade books could you get graded for that? Definitely not defending his position, but more expensive books cost more to grade.
  9. It all depends on tier and value of book. That said he probably is only sending a book at a time due to limited allowance and the rest of his lunch money being stolen when he walks just up the road to his middle school classes. ( he left his address is the first picture of the submission form. )
  10. I do understand that and have done it myself as well. If they actually got their TAT to acceptable levels again maybe some of us may be able to go back to the correct tiers, but they do not really have incentive to accomplish that when they are raking cash in by the barrel full.
  11. Thank you for hosting this contest. Although it went fast , I enjoyed it.
  12. I got a little hung up on that part of the clue as well as the "named for your eyes" when I already knew that landmark in the picture was call "The Eye" so I kept looking all around The Eye for things named similar to parts of the eyes... The clues had both parts that helped , and parts that threw me for a loop..
  13. Looking back it seems I was missing the "follow me" in the first clue followed by the eye of London and as Flee said follow the river to the source.
