I'm 95% sure this was from a bound volume. Some have said it's trimmed because the circle at Robin's feet is not completely on the cover but I've included two others (in the last two photos) from Heritage to show as examples. It's a remarkable looking book for the grade and is 80 years old this year! May we all live so long!

Structurally much better but has small ding/tear that goes through the whole book at middle bottom edge, probably was at bottom or top of the pile when distributed in stores.
