  1. I wouldn't say mine are VALUABLE, but they would set me back if I had to replace them. Yet, I prefer to read comics issue-by-issue rather than in a collected paperback. Always extremely careful, of course. And of course I would NEVER, take risks with a Golden Age book, except to verify all the pages are there.

How does everyone else feel about reading what they consider to be their valuables?

  2. I am sorry if this is the improper place to post this topic, and also sorry to have not introduced myself before.

My name is Alex, 33, and basically I collect whatever looks entertaining. My collection is nowhere near as impressive as many members here, but is slowly growing.

Anyway, I have been searching for years for this guidebook to Marvel characters to I had when I was a kid in the 90s. I posted a year or two ago, but no one had any idea what it was. So, not only am I trying again, am also asking where else I could go to find people who might know the title?

Description: A paperback, about the size of a young-adult novel. To the best of my recollection it was orange with purple borders, had a big illustration of Todd McFarlane's Spider-Man shooting webbing on the cover. Within was text, and black-and-white illustrations of some of the characters.

I think it needs to be asked: what books are you discussing doing the rebagging/ boarding?

If they are 5 dollar books are they worth the cost?

The bulk of my collection are from the 80s and 90s.

  4. Comic Storage Help

Hello, everyone! I am new to the forum, and joined mostly to get some help on storing my humble collection.

I just read that BCW boards need to be replaced every 5 years, and I am past due for that. Is this true? Can anyone tell me what would be the best brand for sleeves, boards, and storage boxes? I am not looking forward to replacing all those boards, and the comics do not seem to be getting any damage. Is BCW really bad, or is it blown out of proportion?
