  1. I'd say 8.5 mostly due to the bottom left front corner and a bit of dirty white, front and back. Otherwise nice copy
  2. Front looks great. You've got the two color breaks near the top staple but that's it. Back is stained and looks like it has a small tear in the middle on the left edge. 6.5-7 I think
  3. From what I understand, tier values are not going up. We will just be paying more for the service. It happens. They have the market power to do so, and have to run their business.
  4. Not to change the subject, but are medium flat rate boxes the best deal for shipping more than say 10 comics?
  5. I would definitely consider it a superhero movie, and for my money would be ranked #1. It isn't just a superhero movie, it's a criticalview of the themes of hubris, might v. right, ends justifying means, noblesse oblige, and paternalistic corporate overreach. Iron Man or Spider-Man can't hold an intellectual candle to that, they're just fun entertainment with cool noise and visuals (which are great, but in a very different way).
  6. Very cool. Art school is lots of fun, hope she enjoys it. Hopefully she'll come around on commissions. Making art is like playing sports - it's fun, but when you do it and sell it, it's like fun on crack. You make someone else happy, and you realize (ie make real) the value of doing it.
  7. I'd go with 7. Looks pretty good other than the spine tics and rounded corners. Do they use /10ths in the less than 9's, or just .5s?
  8. Since it's comic book themed, here's a lamp I built (at comicpalooza a few years ago in this pic). Couple decades ago I was an aspiring comic book artist, but tossed all my stuff recently. All I have left are some old sketchbooks, in one of which I found this Barry Sanders unfinished
  9. Those and 222 were amazing covers. For my money Silvestri was the best Wolverine artist hands down.
  10. It must be, because ebay sold listings still indicate #1 is worthless
  11. Not that there's anything wrong with that. But yeah, Ozymandius is symbolized hubris from Shelley's poem, I don't see much reflective of Moby in his character. I think a better argument could be made for Rorshach being Ahab.
  12. That's in great shape. Can't see the bottom right corner in any of the pics, but the only issues I see are a small color break at the spine near the '68', both spine corners are a bit worn (bottom left worse than top left), and the worst is the little tear in Colossus's hair. I don't really know what I'm doing but I'd say 7.5 - 8.
  13. My guess is 4, based on front cover spine and edge.
  14. Logos are meant to be eye catchers, and memory and association triggers, not part of product though. One isn't trying to get a person to buy because they like the logo, one is trying to visually appeal, make a customer stop the mindless scroll through. Then, every time that person scrolls any further listing, that logo will attract them even more as they've associated it with something that is of interest to them. If they then buy something and have a pleasant experience, that logo is associated with making them feel good.
  15. Thank you. Do you think that's worth it? The press part, I gave it wipe already. or you mean wipe like a dry clean?
  16. No problem. Keep in mind that list is a count of cgc graded copies, it doesn't necessarily mean each one has enough value to be graded or really be more than a few bucks raw. It's just a starting point to narrow down instead of looking up every single book.
  17. I'll get some out of the bag pictures. I don't think that's a spine tic but a line of color that wraps to the back side of the spine, but a bagless pic will help with that for sure. I had no idea spine tics were so deadly. Thanks for checking it out! ETA: You are right, it is a spine tic. Good eye! I got another shot of the interior page, I'll upload soon.
  18. Very novice grader, but I don't want to just ask and not contribute. Seems like the biggest issues are the tear by the 10c and the tear in the top back. Great looking book for it's age though. I'd guess 6.5-7
  19. I'm in the midst of figuring it out too. This'll get you started, but there's no easy way but to slog through. https://rarecomics.wordpress.com/list-of-important-comics-from-the-1980s/
