  1. Bought the raw copy off of eBay but it had never been slabbed or signed. I actually didn’t realize it was a UK version when I bought it.... was focusing on the pictures and the condition that I missed it. But the condition looked good, I got it for $400 and I had another x-men 101 I was getting signed and graded that I figured I’d keep one and sell the other.
  2. That’s fair. Was just surprised it came back that way. Ironically the US version I expected to come back a 9.4 or 9.6 only came back a 9.2. Not sure what I missed on it with my own grading but it’s what it is. Havent decided if I’m keeping the UK for PC or selling yet
  3. Got fantastic news today...my copy of X-Men 101 UK edition came back as a 9.6! One of only 2 on the census (no 9.8s) and only SS series (got it signed by Claremont). Pics to follow.
  4. Well look at it this way too. Sometimes the speculation may be to flip to get something else down the road too. Just never know.
  5. As I said... Stay Tuned. Who the hell knows where life will be in 2-5 years?
  6. I doubt it but we shall see. I might hang onto it long term. No idea where things will be
  7. I bought a Hulk 181 in a 9.0 for a little bit more than 3000
  8. It's for my PC. It could affect resale in the future, but I have my doubts it will on the yellow label. I mean hell, Miller's auto is way harder to tell what it is than Stan's current Signature. Looking at what's sold on ebay, etc. the market is there whether it has the newer, non-pretty stan autos or the older ones. On a board like this, the older ones will fetch more buyers, but for the collectors a step below, I've yet to see any signs of it really affecting value. That being said, it will be about 15 years or so before I sell this if all goes to plan for me retirement... so I'll worry about it then. That being said, I've seen far worse stan autographs. But those will be the last ones I send. I got his sig on the books I wanted for my PC and I'm good.
  9. I think you're projecting your own feelings and taking the echo chamber of the CGC forums as what the overall collecting community thinks. Personally, I agree that I'd rather have a nice clear sig. But collectors on ebay and other sources... the non HARD HARD core collectors are going to buy them still. Sure an auction could get heated if an especially good signature shows up... but that's going to be the exception not the rule.
  10. From May 3rd Signing. I have a few more coming back that I'm expecting end of this month or beginning of next (they had gone through CCS). I've seen worst sigs of his, but definitely not what they used to be. On the plus side, at least the signature is not in the middle of Wolvie's Face.
  11. Wow surprised that only sold for $710. The one on Eastman’s site went for $1600. Granted it was from his collection but still. Btw you spelled Laird wrong in your ad. I just noticed or I’d have told you so you could fix it.
  12. You may want to add Laird Variant into the heading as well. Hit more searches
  13. Thanks... So the virgins are third printings and the trade dress are first (looking at the CGC labels)? Is that normal?
  14. Dre... Would you mind if I got this one in Universal vs the Trade Dress one from earlier? I can only cover one... If not... then no worries.
  15. So I sent out a copy of 238 for my PC... one of my all time fav covers. Was a 9.6 I picked up for $225... Got it signed by both Romitas and Stan. Had it pressed and came back a 9.8! So very happy right now. Makes me feel better after I included my 9.8 in a trade with DST.
  16. Because its an amateur business notion to think your giving away free advertising. There is no evidence it does anything to offer any kind of positive advertisement. Politicians who refuse to acknowledge their opponents names are often ridiculed. It's basically amateur hour. In the end, be better than your opponent and it doesn't matter if you say their name... the superiority of your product keeps your customers. THAT is how to do business.
  17. I will never understand this fear of some businesses of mention of their competitors. I mean, shilling for them sure... but having to use voldemort... its just asinine and really poor business practices. If one of my sales people did this, the consequences would not be good for them. Highlight WHY you are better than your competitors... don't be afraid of them.
  18. Purchased a book from me. Quick pay and no issues. Excellent buyer.
  19. Bought a bunch of top notch Saga. Reasonable priced, great person to work with. Came wrapped well but easy to unwrap and just as described!
